I can't believe I don't know this by now, but Im working on getting my Neo Gold cab up and going. Im wanting to add a power switch. Now, I'm wondering if it would be best to get a 4-poled switch (is that correct) and put the line and negative to each side, so the switch disconnects both when thrown, or do I only need to disconnect the line (white) lead? Will that totally disconnect power because it breaks the loop? Any insight is greatly appreciated. :conf:

You only need to break the black lead - the hot wire.

White is neutral.

I very highly recommend switching both the active and the neutral for two reasons.

Firstly because its the proper way to do it.

And more importantly, secondly, if you have an incorrectly wired outlet then your cab will still be live even when it appears to be switched off. People have been killed due to this.

Same thing can happen if you switch ground and hot too...

It's best to check all outlets in your house to make sure they are wired correctly.

Switching ground and active would blow the fuse.

Couldn't agree more about checking the outlets when moving into a new house. I don't trust anyone's wiring but my own.
