EB says they'll carry it on Jan 1.
Which means it'll come out around May 2009.

"The complete collection.." how about they port the hyper games. Until then, these releases are a waste of time.

They've already said that they'd like to, but can't, since the source code was lost in the dissolution of the original SNK back in 2000. And emulating the Hyper is a lot more processor intensive and difficult than the 16-bit Neo.

The hardware is 10 years old already. SNKP just doesn't want to spend the time or any money making an emulator.

Why should they, when in the same interview, they said that it would likely not sell very well. Without source code, developing an emulator requires reverse-engineering and a lot of time and energy. Just ask any emu developer. Why bother putting the resources into such a project that you know is going to be a money pit?

Besides, actually emulating the HNG64 would require far more horsepower than the PS2 could manage, if only because of all the RAM the system was addressing for its various functions. The only practical avenue would be a port, and for that, they would need the source code... otherwise, the best they could manage would be a from-the-ground-up recreation. Which I personally think would be awesome, but I doubt most people would feel the same way.

What, you got rid of your Hyper hardware? What would possess you to do that?

In all truth, the hyper isn't near the same build quality as the old MVS. It's a touchy POS. I'd rather have all the games neatly packed into one disc, hell could probably even chuck the driving games in there.

Did someone say Hyper64 Emulation?

Where are all the spanish speaking coders that usually get this shit done? Christ, if they could do CPS3 and Model 2, I imagine Hyper 64 is a shit in the park for them.

Who cares about the anthology? It has games you can already get on the neo, the ones that actually matter anyway.

6 you cannot get on the neo. Also, I like the arranged soundtracks for the games that do not come in the MVS or the AES versions. On top of that your getting 6 games for 14 dollars where as SS 3 and SS 4 I have seen for upwards of 2 hundred (going by memory here). I would say arguably your getting the best video quality compared to an unmodded neo. And the fact you can adjust the screen and the pixels makes it even better. Control could be an issue except that you have wireless control possible only with the ports while wireless control is impossible with both MVS and AES combined. So, basically what I am trying to point out is there are numerous reasons to get a good "port". Because its not just a port. Its a lot more than that. In some ways its a better version.

This is no longer the days of the PS1 or SNES.

Yes with the godly emulation qualities SNKP puts out, I'm very "sure" that this will be anywhere near "good", or better.
