Has anyone ever bought one of these and how good are they? I have been debaiting on buying one but I am not sure the quality of the games from it, if they loose any graphics or if they fail after time. Anyway's I am only interested in one of these from a gamers point - not from the collectors stand point. Of course the price of this one is quite high, I figure I may buy one for like $150 or something, might have someone they can make them, so I might get that friend of mine to make me one. But I just wanted some opinions on these multi carts compared to other bootleg carts.

You should probably hold off on buying one of these. At the rate the carts are increasing in size (the 48-in-1 didn't come out that long ago) they'll probably have a cart that will, literally, have every single MVS and bootleg hack ever created on it. I used to joke about it, but at this point it's only one or two multicart jumps away from actually happening.

I bought one from that same person the other day. I did not know I could get it cheaper elsewhere.

I installed it in my MVS 4 Slot ( only cart installed and tried all slots individually) and the menu comes up and when you select a game, you get the NeoGeo boot screen and tones, then the screen goes all green with some scramble, then it boots to the menu. I tried holding down p1 and p2 at the same time and I was able to get one game to load long enough for me to start playing, then it rebooted again. I dont know if it is an issue with the 4slot board or not. No where in the auction does it say that it will work with only a 1 slot.

Any thoughts or ideas to help me fix my problem?

I almost bought one but when I asked the seller about it, they said outright it would not work (and then tried to sell me an overpriced 1-slot :oh_no:). These multicarts are designed to get more use out of cheap 1-slot boards.

They don't with the UniBIOS either, so don't get your hopes up to cheat past King of Fighters 15 Anniversary Super Magic II Special Plus Bouncy Edition, coming soon to a 500-in-1 near you.

All of the game ROMs are on them complete. There is no need for emulation since it's running on native Neo Geo hardware. The cost of the ROM chips have come down a lot over the years so it's relatively cheap to make them. When you turn them on you get a really fugly picture of Terry and a menu to pick which game you want to play. Gameplay is perfect since you're running all of the MVS code on MVS hardware.

What is the quality of these games in that 100-1 cart? Are the games exactly the same as they would be with the individual carts or does the animation/sound suffer? How do they work exactly?

This is pretty much the same as one of those gameboy flash cards. It's filled with roms, but since you're using the real hardware the games play perfectly. No emulation necessary. The gba ones work great, but I can't say if the boots have graphical glitches or not. Someone could theoretically make one of these with usb input and you could put all the games onto it. It's been done for many systems. Check some out here.

Exellent com said the sound wasn't correct on a lot of them, so keep that in mind. I think they might have only been talking about KoF 99th anniversary golden china moon edition. I was going to get one too, but they told me for one slots only :annoyed:

Evil, I like you man, just don't get sucked into this bootleg bullshit. The vast majority of most mvs carts can be had for a reasonable price man, don't resort to this bullshit. Otherwise SNK will shed a tear.......

Yea, agreed, if I buy an MVS cart from here, SNK doesn't see a dime. These XX in 1 carts would be worth it if they had the full ROMs, but that requires a lot of storage.

A flash cart for MVS would not be as easy as the ones made for other systems for a number of reasons...having 500+mb of flash ram in them is one good reason right off the bat.

I have the 48-1 and it works fine on my 2-slot CMVS. Wonder why the 100-1 would not work on anything but a 1-slot?

I was wanting to get one, thanks for telling me it works. It's not unibios friendly though right?

My unibios works fine and still enables cheats. I have'nt tested all the games but the ones that are not hacks do work fine with the unibios. I am not sure about the KOF plus and extras though.

Welink has the 100-1 for $66. The person I spoke with from welink stated that the 100-1 does not work on a 4 or 6 slot. They did not test it on a 2-slot. They did say that it was made by the same company that makes the 48-1 which I have and does work on a 2-slot CMVS so I assume the 100-1 will work on a 2-slot as well. I am ordering one and will let you know. For $66 I'll take the chance.

Why bother with this shit!? Mind as well play the roms via J-Pac and be done with it. I haven't seen this things yet, but I seen screen shots of themenu and they look horrible, plus all the wacky sacky iterations of KOF and others are just plain annoying. The only boot I like andI've yet to own is CTHD2003, but I think it is 'cause I love KOF 2001 so much.

SNK is no longer making any money on the used cart business.
I think he was just being nostalgic man...gezz way to ruin a very nice lecture there!

This is pretty cool. I might look into getting one of these if the price is right (sub $100). I do like having little stacks of MVS carts but if the games work just fine it would save plenty of space.

I once had a boot, think strikers 45, and the shell was so deformed it didn't even fit in a shockbox nor in my 2-slot MVS. Fuck boots, MVS carts are already dead cheap and the quality of Chinese boots is just terrible for the money you pay for it. I think it will cost about 5 bucks to make one..

Trust me on these carts. If you are not a collector it is just stupid to buy the originals. I have the 48-1 cart and also several original carts. The 48-1 games play IDENTICAL to the originals except of course, the KOF plus+, magics, and specials, ect. And some of these are actually decent games, just a little different from the original KOF series, not necessarily worse. Still, there are plenty of original games on the multi carts like Street hoops, strikers 1945, Prehistoric isle 2, ultimate 11, neo cup 98, puzzle bobble, zupapa, NITD, metal slug 3, neo bomberman, Aero fighters 2, metal slug x, Baseball stars 2, alpha mission 2, ss iv, sengoku 3, neo driftout, spinmaster, MOTW, neo turf masters, 3 count bout, last resort, robo army and several others! And these title DO NOT VARY at all from the originals. I know this because I also have the originals and compared them. If someone on this web page can give me all those games I just mentioned for less than $50 I'm all in, but you can't. Actually, you cant give me those games for less than $500. So why buy them??? I guess a lot of people here just get upset because these multi-carts are hurting the value of there original games. I understand that, but it is what it is. Plus, the 100-1 cart gives you even more games for around $66 plus shipping which is about $25. Thats less than $1 a game. Do the math! I have had the 48-1 for about a month and the only problem I have had is with Metal Slug 4 plus and metal slug 6 plus. For some reason, the word plus flashes on the screen when you play and I haven't figured out how to get it off. Other than that, the other games work flawless and are also supported by the unibios. Hopefully, they will eventually come out with every game on these mult-carts. I'm sure it will happen soon and everyone will bitch about it.
