A Rush of Blood to the Head is still a fine album, but I don't think anything else they have made has been quite that stellar.

X&Y, for example, felt a little too long and, perhaps, too diverse in its sound.

I haven't listened to the new one at all though. I happen to like Keane better if I want "somewhat spacey, Radiohead-lite friendly pop music"

It's fine to like Coldplay. Don't let others sway your taste in music. Srsly.

"You know how I know you're gay?"

"How?"

"Because you like Coldplay."

If it's an 'I think I like it maybe' band then they're worthless to you. 'Tis much better to be knocked on your ass by something truly excellent

Yes. You should feel ashamed. But it's ok, we all have that one horrible band we like.

Why should you care what anyone thinks of your personal tastes? This is life, not high school. And trust me, the two things are worlds apart.

*listens to George Michael's "Praying for Time," middle finger upraised to anyone who is stupid enough to think it's a bad song*

Aw, c'mon, "Adia" wasn't that bad of a song by her.

Well, if one went solely by the music I listened to when I first got into music, one would have sworn I'd turn out gay (Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, etc... still love most of it). Sarah McLachlan just doesn't do much for me, though. I don't like the way she does her backup vocals, I think it is. If you like her style, but want something a little less pop-friendly, check out Sarah Fimm. Great voice and some truly eclectic stylings.

I liked McLachlan's collaboration with Delerium ("Silence")... originally. Then it got remixed two million times and played to hell and back. Then, it began to grate on the nerves a tad.
