New arcade fighting game 'Tatsunoko vs Capcom' revealed

Famitus has revealed that a Tatsunoko vs Capcom arcade fighting game is on the way. The game will feature 2on2 Tag Team Battles and 2D Sprite gameplay. Characters so far confirmed from Capcom are Ryu and Chun Li. Characters confirmed from Tatsunoko are Ken Washio from Gatchaman and Casshern. Platforms are yet to be confirmed.

Just saw this on Kotaku. Nice to see that it's using 2D sprites. Can't wait to see what characters will be in it.

Would be awesome if Beruku Katsue was a playable character too.

Just saw this. This is the year of the fighting game, awesome. Think it'll be all hand drawn like The King of Fighters XII? Someone needs to do a high res scan of that famitsu.

This could be bloody awesome! I still would have preferred SF VS DBZ :D

Hopefully this isn't a Cut and paste job like Fighting Jam....I imagine all the Tatsunoko Characters being amazing, and then Capcom chucking in old Zero 3 sprites.

Um...sorry man, you're wrong here. Even my DVDs say copyright 1985, 2001 Harmony Gold/Tatsunoko. Hell, I'll gladly take some Mospeada love in this game too though.

I don't even know what the fuck a "Tatsunoko" is. However I read "2d" and they have my full attention.

I know we are all sick and tired of the Alpha 3 sprites but right about now I'll take any 2d after this SFIV fiasco.

There wont be Macross.

Tatsunoko may hold some copyright due to a court ruling but if they try to use them then BIG WEST(the real copyright owners) will step in and it will get messy.

Mospeada though would be awesome and dont forget Super Dimentional Calvary Southern Cross and Super Dimentional Century ORGUSS!!

Tatsunoko already had a 2D fighting game on PSX. Their main focus was their still well-loved '70s properties (and yeah, Berg Katse was in it), and I'm sure that will be their focus again here.

Still, seeing some big Macross or Mospeda robots versus Tech Romancer robots would be cool.

Don't know anything about Tatsunoko, but it sounds great to me.

This is a fantastic year for fighting games. I wouldn't count on another year like this for... Well, probably, ever.

No. Tatsunoko license is regarding the Harmony Gold's Robotech version for US. Macross isn't a Tatsunoko IP, it's from Big West. Tatsunoko only worked the US contract.

Looks very cool, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Very glad they've decided to stick with 2D sprite gameplay, should be a winnar.

Should just make a Capcom Vs Capcom game....

Anyways, Macross games have gotten lots of chances here.... Alway sucked.

Name one legitimate Macross video game that actually came out here in the US.
Not that Hobotech trash...I mean MACROSS.

Yes, zero. Not a single one. None of the Super Famicom, PlayStation or Saturn, DC or PS2 titles actually came out here.

I dunno what you're smokin' Norton.

At any rate, I'll be importing this for sure.

Dunno if a substantial number of tatsunoko titles were released in US (and by a single licensee) to justify a US release.
