The sculpting project I'm currently working on is a King of The Monsters 2 play set. My original intent was to make at least two monsters from the game, a destructible city environment, and some of the small vehicles the pitiful humans pilot, but I might take the lazier route and just do one monster (of course, that would kind of kill the whole "Monster King" thing if you don't have another monster to fight--but then, I can easily pit Eiffelyte against one of my other figures). Eiffelyte is getting pretty close to done--I still need to add the worms/tendrils sticking out of his arms/legs/chest. I'm also debating whether or not I want to have some kind of alternate/switchable streched-out arms/legs. The figure is just mocked-up at this point--the figure hasn't been glued together yet, the parts are just sitting in their sockets, so to speak. He stands roughly 2.5 inches tall and has 19 points of articulation. I'll probably start on some buildings/human vehicles after I finish him up.
Here's some of the ideas I've been bouncing around in my head for this project:
- Rather than using an area from the King of Monsters games, change the city setting to South Town with Geese Tower, Pao Pao Cafe, etc. as destroyable buildings. Alternatively, create a "Neo Geo City" with buildings/structures from various SNK games.
- Replace the King of Monsters human-controlled vehicles (i.e., tanks, helicopters, jets, etc.) with Metal Slug vehicles.
And, no, I'm not making Atomic Guy (I don't like him--giant human superheroes shouldn't be in a monster-dedicated game), so don't ask. Beetle Master, Clawhead, Neo Geon, and Cyber Woo are the current frontrunners in the rigged election going on inside my head.
