Hello, Can you do any translation update Deuce?
Since you're new, it would do you well to read the first post in this thread. Any post (polite or otherwise) that boils down to little more than asking "Are we there yet" won't get you anywhere.

Patience young grasshopper.

This project is taking too long. Give it to someone to finish, it's been almost two decades.

Seriously, stop whining. He has a life beyond translating this game, and he has mentioned multiple times that he has other projects as well. The existence of life does not depend on Deuce translating the game, and he is doing this by his own choice. As far as I am concerned, he can take as long as he wants to.

I'm not whining. But it's taken a decade. Enough already. "Don't ask when it's going to be done!" LOL. Get off your elite high horse. You announce that you're translating the game, and don't expect people to keep asking after years? Hilarious. Hey, Deuce, when is it going to be done?!!!!!!!!!! <3

Why not increase the team size from one to three, just to get it done?

Or do you enjoy this whole being able to tell people to fuck off thing? I can see the fun in that :lolz:

The game has been out since 1997. I didn't start the project in 2000.

It will be done when it's done.

I'm surprised you still want to release it considering people that aren't contributing to the project give you shit about it.

I would be irritated as well which is mainly why I never post a WIP project because I just don't want to hear it. That and the "suggestions".

Oh and BTW I am really looking forward to it. I hope we can also one day convert it to cart format as well.

I can tell people to fuck off, anyway.

But to put it quite simply, the SSRPG project is not a priority in my life right now. I have other, real-world concerns that come first. The whining of a bunch of thoughtless manchildren is hardly going to inspire me.

Don't we all have real priorities in life? I don't think anyone assumed translating a game for a niche console was your #1 priority. Are you teaching yourself japanese and translating at the same time? This is as bad as when Mattel kept delaying the computer component. It'll be out next Spring...

I've translated multiple games in the past, across several platforms. Well. If you'd actually bothered to keep up, you'd be aware of this.

You know, I really have to wonder, what do you think posts like this are going to accomplish? I can't imagine you believe it'll cause some form of epiphany where I'll suddenly fire everything up and work on SSRPG feverishly until it's done. This isn't an episode of "Deuce, M.D." You can wait, and you will wait. If you have a problem with that, well, I suppose that means that it sucks to be you, doesn't it? Someone should have taught you the value of patience somewhere along the line.

If you need it done that bad you can always have someone translate it for you or do it yourself.

I have considered just scrapping plans for a public release, yes.

That would be interesting, indeed. Weren't all NeoCD games originally on cart-based dev kits?

Um, Deucey Boy... I'm not waiting for you to finish the translation. I don't care if you do or not. I just saw the thread and others when I looked up Samurai Spirits RPG. How would I know if you've translated many games from diffferent platforms, all from your home office of your parents basement? What, have I tracked all your posts and progress since 2000? Haha. You have that fake sense of importance, when in reality, 2-3 people tops even give a sh*t. Maybe even less. Love you man.

So you're just trolling. Thanks for the clarification.

I believe so, the most common problem is getting the music working.
Well, for what it's worth, I have extracted MIDIs of all the CD-based music (except for the vocal stuff, obviously) from the PSX version. It all works perfectly, except that each track isn't set to the right patch, and it has to be manually fixed and saved on a per-file basis. Some of them sound pretty great, once fixed.

I think the lesson here is to not announce something until you're really serious about releasing it soon, and on a somewhat steady timeline. I've learned that the hard way with projects myself, and I think Deuce already mentioned in an earlier post regretting making a public announcement as early as he did. Now there are all these question marks about when, if ever, this is actually going to happen. That basically amounts to backing out.

Every minute Deuce spends on this thread, or this forum in general, is a minute that could have gone into the translation.

Or, he could show some humility and be kind to people who ask questions about it. His attitude is disgusting. Learn to be nice, only make announcements when you're serious about the project, and treat people with some dignity. But that's too much to ask when you're dealing with the bottom of the barrel. I've said my piece about this "project."

Humility? If I was in his position I wouldn't take kindly to your "2 decades" comment either. He gets nothing out of this and your attitude towards him isn't getting it done any faster. Why don't you offer some help instead of add to the problem?

There's a bunch of people here who need to start contributing to the Neo community instead of acting like kings because of their join date as well.

Short and simple, he's making the effort to contribute something to the community.

Lately this community has turned into a bunch of leeches and trolls.

First, a few notes.

1. My superiority complex has nothing to do with the translation project. Most people are idiots, and putting them in front of a computer with an internet connection somehow makes then more so.
2. If you think I'd actually devote every waking minute to the project if I weren't on the forums, you're an even bigger fool than you look. And statistically speaking, odds are that you look like quite a fool.

Humility? If I was in his position I wouldn't take kindly to your "2 decades" comment either. He gets nothing out of this and your attitude towards him isn't getting it done any faster.
Just ignore him. The twit has some kind of problem with elementary school-level math. Apparently 2009 minus 1997 (the year of the game's release) = 20. And 2009 minus 2007 (the year I started working on this) = 10. So, yeah. I've been making people wait for a long decade these past two years.

And here's a general statement: if you don't like my attitude, tough. I don't care about your precious widdle feelings, and I'm not interested in your opinion about how long I'm taking, how I treat people, or anything else. I'll work on SSRPG when I feel like it, and at no other time.

Have you ever had people ask you the same questions over and over? I don't know about you, but I tend to want to strangle them in public, so that others will learn not to do so.

Yes, when people ask me the same questions over and over I answer politely, just like 99% of normal people do.

Deuce can answer any way he wants. But by the way he answers, you can tell he's a d*ck.

Hey Deuce, when is Samurai Spirits RPG going to be done?

He's "contributing" to the community by acting like he's doing us all a favor by translating the game. Fair enough... it sounds like a cool project. But then to take years to do it (which is fine, it's his time), and still get pissed when people keep asking him about it, is just stupid. Then he says he might not even release it publicly... great. Well, then, can you stop talking about it publicly?

He also treats others badly when they ask him basic questions about the decades long project. Frankly, if he wanted to contribute something worthwhile, he'd learn how to treat others with respect. Whether or not his translation is ever finished, no one really cares. He can play it by himself, which I'm sure he'd have no problem doing.

All in all, I'd rather talk to Dion than Douche.

Hey Deuce, I just wanted to let you know that you are The Jesus for personally working on this project, and if there is anything that we can do to help, other than not acting like a needy, spoiled child, please let us know. Keep up the great work, dude!:buttrock:
