With the US release tomorrow and the Euro release a couple of days after there should be a good few people playing this soon.

I've beaten mission 8 on Devil Hunter mode and should crack mission 9 in the next session.

It's cool the way when you fire it up it tells you what progress your friends have made since you last played.

So far I'm enjoying the solid gameplay and the challenge, but at the same time it is disappointing to have so much backtracking and rehashing, plus while the visuals and environments look very nice, there's almost nothing going on most of the time, and when you do get into a ruck it is nearly always you against 3 or 4 demons. After playing things like Uncharted and R&C Future recently they make DMC4 look positively last gen. Still, the core of the game seems very good and that's what is keeping me playing at the moment.

The demo was pretty decent, but $60 is a steep price tag considering what you're getting. I might pick it up once it drops in price.

I tend to agree with you on DMC4. Then again I am not into spending more than $20.00 for any game.

Is it better than Genji?

I am kinda iffy on buying this tomorrow. The demo seemed a little bland but did have some neat things you can do to defeat bosses. Some of the action seems cool but they really didn't add all that much to it from the demo shows. I am sure the final game is better, but what is the deal with the 1 shot at a time handgun? I only played through part 1 and a little bit through part 2 and got tired of it.

Are the new members all getting together and finding new and inventive ways to get banned? This fucktard keeps posting pictures about whatever the thread is about with no text.

Please DashK, come back and keep the n00bs in check.:oh_no:

seriously dude, go to blockbuster and rent it first. I can't imagine putting down money on this game unless it's proven gold.

you're not 12. Oldschool for you should be a little older than this.

So anyhow. Is it better than Genji? From the pics, it looks mad grainy.

Oh well, I went to EB to get Taito Legends Vol 1 for PS2 and also picked up a Hori DOA 4 stick for 360. So much for DMC 4 for now. This stick is pretty solid, but it is just a little loose. The buttons are nice, weighs just right and it responds really well.

BTW: Look up Validus on the pcenginefx.com forums. :lolz:

Is this one of those new Kanye West catch phrases you kids today are all so fond of?

Although I'm sorry to inform you, the postion of NG.com wigger has been filled by DashK. You'll have to pose as something else.

BTW: Ban plz.

Haha, we banned this clown over on pcenginefx for similar antics a month or so ago.

Don't worry guys, this is just the beginning. It gets better.

EDIT: To elaborate on SNKNostalgia's suggestion, be aware that most of the real juicy stuff from this joker has already been deleted from our forums over there. I'm genuinely interested, however, to see how he's handled over here.

Genji was actually a beautiful game, where the main failing was in the rigid camera and sometimes annoyingly poor level design. Otherwise it was like an Onimusha...

Well at least if I do decide to get DMC 4, I will stay FAR AWAY from the PS3 version. I just can't understand what Capcom was thinking. From what I was reading, the load times between the 2 versions are almost no difference.

I thought the Install is optional so you can still play it like the 360 version.

I couldn't tell you for sure since my friend has the Xbox 360 version, but from what I understand, the PS3 version is a forced install and you have the option to delete it afterwards. Though I can be wrong since I do not own it.

The issue I have is, why even have this option since the loading between the two systems is around 2-4 seconds.

Yes, I'll do just that, because I'm incapable of finding something else to do for a half hour the one time it installs...

Yeah, I enjoyed Genji. Beat it twice. It wasn't brilliant, but it didn't deserve to get overlooked just because some fool started going on about giant crabs...

Regarding the topic of loading.

As for the PS3 load, yeah, it does take ages, but once you are done there is practically no loading from there on in. It is also an option. If you don't want to install, don't install. Get over it.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/849/849224p1.html

'Like most multi-console games, any review would inevitably have to come down to which system is better, and for this instance, the PS3 winds up winning out just slightly. It's not in the gameplay department, because DMC4 plays the same regardless of which system that you play on. Nor is it in the visual department, because visual issues are virtually negligible. For example, the 360 has some harder edges to some characters during cutscenes, and a little more screen tearing than the PS3 at times. The PS3 can be a wee bit darker during some scenes, though. Both systems show off a certain amount of render passing that pops into focus on sweeping vista shots, but they occur at the same time on each system and are quickly dismissed. However, observing these differences will only come via frame-by-frame analysis of each game side-by-side. Even then, you're still receiving an incredible visual experience.

No, the edge comes in the fact that the PS3 installs a large amount of game files to the hard drive, dramatically reducing load times between stages and cinematics. I've timed the game on both systems numerous times, and each time has been consistently in the PS3's favor. Transitions to gameplay from starting menus are relatively close, frequently within half a second or so of each other, but when you're loading up a cutscene or having another pause in the action, the 360's times are easily three times that of the PS3.

Anyone beaten secret mission 3 yet?

Like it says, don't use force on the enemies. Famitsu said that using taunt, enemy step, and roll are the way to build up your style rank. I can get things going with enemy step and then a taunt, but not by rolling. Then things fall apart. Apparently you need to build up to a C rank.

Just how close does the timing have to be to get style points for a near miss and a roll? Is it just with using the sideways roll, or can it be a backwards jump too? Anyone know?
