So as few of you guys know I've been away in FL for some overdue vacation, but this couldn't been farther from the truth as I had some restoration duties to fill.

I gave this cab to my best friend in FL as a christmas gift, I was hoping he would get ambitious and restore it himself, but no cigar. It seems that I had more faith in the man than he deserved, but I made him work anyway:smirk: .

It's a MVS-2-25, so I wasted no time and took everything out so I could start restoring things.

Yep, that's me been my usual self.

Then we had some problems with the cp as you can see below, but no fear, a quick trip to kynko's with my repro CP overlays (which btw are available to anyone below my sig) came in to the rescue...observe.

So to add to this I also cut and drilled some crystalite in order to protect the new overlay, I could off laminated the overlay but I opted for this method as it looks way better for me. Bad pick, but it sends the message across.

After this we started painting (well sanding first then blah, blah, blah, etc.) so here's some pics of the parts that were painted.

Things were coming along, however...

OK...so time to assemble things up, and it went pretty smooth no problems there.

Luckily I'm a great friend and gave my bud some of my doubles I had laying around, this way I could have some Neo in FL while I was away from my babes.

Note: I made that Fatal Fury label:emb: .

This was a great experience, I gotta tell you, this 2 slot machines are so nice, the access is amazing, I mean you open the CP and bam! there it is! easy reach and beautiful design, no memory card plates to get in the way or nothing! There so much space inside the cab you could easily install a hyper64 below if you wanted for some more SNK action...ahh life it's good when you have your priorities straight.:mr_t:

Well here's the final shots of the finished product, enjoy!

You better believe I was sleeping next to that thing! Hell yeah! This one broad actually said that she's never going to forget getting laid next to a cab!:lolz:

Nothing like thatbabyblue SNK logo ah? man this repro came out great!

Just in case some folks are itching at the previous pics, we did retouch the black inside, but I forgot to take some pics that day, it was an aftertought.

...and that folks is what I was doing in Daytona FL, besides meddleing with the redneck chicks that is!;)

Edit: Why is this not in Arcade Central...well because that place is usually desolated.:annoyed: Mods move it if you have to.

Damn, I need a friend like you.

Excellent work, that cab looks better than new. Tell your friend not to worry about the noise outside the house, it's Neo-heads drooling over the cab.

You guys are awsome!!:buttrock: Thanks for the kind words, but hey! Do you want me to do a restoration tour? By all means as long as you provide the cab, the parts, the booze, and the broads! I'm game for the most of this winter.

Actually if anyone needs help with their CP, just send it to me and I'll throw some medieval magical thunder of restoration on it! Of course it won't be free, but I do this as a hobby, I'm not looking to make a living like many around.

Thanks again, I'm just glad to see another Neo Cab brought back to it's deserving glory!

Can you make repros of the Memory Card Plates?.(not sure if we talked about this before).Like on that two slot and like the ons on the 4 slots..

I'd like to buy a 4 slot one if you did and I had someone in tech ask for a scan of one like the big one on that 2 slot.

You know...I was actually working on a regular Memorycard Sticker for the 4 Slots and I don't even know where I left that file, and to top it all I didn't take any straight shots of the 2 slot plate nor measuerements, I feel pretty stupid now, because that was one of the things I wanted to do as soon as I dismantled that cab:annoyed: .

No fear though, I'll be working on it for sure, I will PM you as soon as I have it done.

I'm very interested in your overlay overhaul, but I'm new to all this. Could you make a list of the parts and tools used?

The usual shit my man, drill, table saw, palm sander and of course a printer. As far as materials go, get paint, primer, plexiglass, paper and the obvious; a little patience and the seldom "it's not my fault!"

In the Arcade Central forum you will find a lot of info, and perhaps better people, or should I say more ambitious when it comes to share the tricks of restoration, but in truth all you need to do is turn the common sense switch on and go from there.

Just search a bit and you'll find tons of stuff.

This thread of the Goldie restore might give you some ideas, there's alot of talk in there with people on the know.

This guy here is a bible when it come to cabs chris1, I'm not a bible 'cause I'm a McGuiver:emb: .

One day if I get greedy I will post a pic journal with a step by step guide, but I'm too busy now with holydays and all.

You're welcome, the best thing to do like everything is dismantle everything slowly and remember where it goes, after that with your mechanical skills it should be a walk in the park. There's not much in there, once you done it you'll realize that there was nothing really to be afraid of.

Been in the car bussiness would probably mean that you could also have access to an auto body shop, that means that you can have that CP painted by real pros, and that friend would be an awsome thing!
