4. As a courtesy to other members, no member should have more than *1* active sale/wanted thread per forum. If you have an active thread in each forum (for 3 total) that is fine. Also, threads posted that are for Auctions should be appropriately identified, same as items being for sale directly. Do not deceive members by using a vague subject line to get attention, these threads will be deleted.

I would like to see this rule/guideline better enforced (particularly the part I emphasized in bold). It would definately improve the readability of the market forums.

It's not a huge problem -- 95% of the people who post in the selling forums are pretty good about it -- but I've noticed a slowly growing trend towards just not giving a fuck and posting threads willy-nilly. The worst offender is definately kai (every time I look at a selling forum he often has 2, 3 or more threads just on the first page), but I've seen others.

I don't necessarily expect anything to come of this, but I just wanted to throw it out there that it;'s annoying. Does this irk anybody else besides me?

(somewhat related to this, will a mod please just ban gamersparadise already? Jesus fucking christ. Besides posting too many threads IMO, he's also clearly a scammer who should have been gone by now)

How many selling threads does one person need, exactly?

He's obviously a scammer (if there's doubt in your mind, peruse his threads), he should be banned. Yup.

The problem is when people repost the same item multiple times.

when a seller lists big things in separate threads, it makes sense, because you want people to know what you are selling. If you say "big sale", then the fact you are selling a Q player may be lost on the reader, or the fact you're selling DC imports might be missed, etc. If someone posts the same item in separate threads all over the place, then let us know.

Ah, ok. So it is fine to have TEN selling threads on the
first page of the selling forums?

That only makes sense up to a point. As Jorge pointed out, ten threads would be a mess.

It's far, far more logical to have one selling thread and update the title if you add new (and/or "big") items. Items can be generalized under the banner of whatever system they're for. Kai's selling threads (all six of them between page one and two) could easily be merged and retitled "(NEW 12-03! QPLAYER STUFF!) PCE/SFC/DC/Xbox/360/Saturn " or something along those lines.

That's what most people do. Instead, kai has been abusing the shit out of lax sales-forum moderation and has made a new thread every single time he has anything for sale. I don't think I've ever seen him update a thread with new items.

If somebody has been bumping the same shit for months, visibility is not the thing keeping them from selling their games.

You do realize that since the moderators banned you as Yassinov R, you're current incarnation probably won't last even as long as the 1st one did.

I agree a bit, but I also think seeing a new thread with no replies is always exciting to me as it is an opprtunity to get first dibs on whatever the user is selling. If it is one thread to a person, it will be like navigating the mess that is the CheapAssGamer forums, where each selling post has 100+ replies.

I do agree with keeping it uncluttered, I try not to post another selling thread unless it is a little bit after my last one, which would probably be many pages back.

As much I hate Lochlan for his gayness and retardness, I'm here (again) in the forums to start off a new page.

Ok mods, time off!! seriously .. just .. stop! what are you doing is stupid and pointless.

I want to be a quality member here, but as I recall you are the guys who started modifying my rank and shit .. I didn't even starts anything this time to justify modifying my nick and rank and even my avatar and sig! (mods with no lifes?) :oh_no:

I recently bought a NEO-GEO AES and I want to discuss neo gaming and other old-school gaming as well, so just BACK OFF .. OK?

Just leave my account the fuck alone ..

And I could start behaving from now on.

OK, first of all, you are ruining my thread. For the second time. That is what you might refer to as a "faux pas". But y'know what, my thread wasn't really gaining much momentum anyway, and I think it really turned out for the best in the end. You using this thread as a soapbox to plead your case is the final nail in the coffin, eternally sealing the link between the two of us. Your obsession with me knows no bounds, and frankly, I find that fucking hilarious.

Second, if you are so eager to, as you put it, "be a quality member", please explain why you thought it was ok to spam every forum with "FUCK YOU MODS" repeated over and over, filled with animated gif's of a girl getting anally penetrated.

Here's the reality of your situation: the mods didn't ban your second account (I suspect because they, like most of us, enjoy laughing at you, fake account or not), and instead chose to continue their campaign of marginalization. You creating a third account could only possibly lead to yet another custom rank and/or banning.

My advice is to stop trolling, keep your ego in check, only use one account, and then kill yourself. You are a terrible human being, and a detriment to your country. If you have any pride left, you should do yourself a favor and jump off a bridge.

Sorry Lochlan, since I put you on my ignore list, I can't read your replies, thanks! :)

That's a damn shame, I think I gave you some pretty good advice. Especially that last part.

Lochlan, the main idea is that when the multiple postings become a problem it will be addressed. Right now, we don't want to make all the rules cast iron. The flexibility in the system keeps things running smoothly. If someone has too many threads and monopolizes the market, then we'd definitely do something. Right now, I'm not seeing a problem.

But if you have issues with stuff going down, don't hesitate to say something. Sometimes, suggestions are actually acted on here. ;)

On the topic of multiple threads, how about SNKman who has no less than 9 wanted topics in the first three pages, bit of a joke really. :oh_no:

Here's the problem as I see it as an outside observer: the rules thread is in horrible shape and should be re-written as a new thread and stickied.

It's so old it's from before wasabi destroyed his old account merging it into feelgood.

I was about to start hell in the sales thread, but I first wanted to find the rule to point to... it took me a while to find it, and only because I knew to look for it.

It's currently in post 6 of the over-complicated "New rules for the Market Forums - 03/05/2003 - Read BEFORE posting!" thread (in a post dated from 2004)

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1065194&postcount=6

I strongly believe that if someone rewrote (more like re-organized) the information in that thread into a nice, well organized single post you would help cut down on this stuff.

As of right now, I can understand how new users would mess it up --otherwise I would bring down fire and brimstone (which you don't want because I don't have a real understanding of the market forum culture --it would be like declaring martial law, if you saw "the Siege", you know that's a bad idea)

I'm against the rules being anything more than guidelines, enforced capriciously and arbitrarily by benevolent dictators.
