Not my auction, but $23 shipped is a pretty good deal for Windjammers.

Item number: 250160632167

Turns out it wasn't such a great deal. The shipping was overinflated, it was just sent in a bubble wrap envelope and he charged $14 in shipping? Way too much. Then when the game arrived, the sound was all staticy. I tried cleaning the contacts and even the pcbs in the dishwasher and still nothing. You can hear the Neo logo clearly and some of the game music but then certain times in the game it'll get scratchy. The seller would only refund the purchase price of the game if I sent it back to him. So almost $20 in shipping costs to get $10 back. I'm better off playing the game with no sound. Oh well maybe I'll figure out what the problem is someday. I'd be wary of buying anything else from him though.

I don't have much recourse cause he sold it "as-is" and I did at least get the same item that he pictured. It just burns me up because I know he overcharged on shipping, but he refused to refund any of it. He also wouldn't even give me a partial refund for a partially working game, he preferred to just get it back. I'm sure he'd just turn around and resell it. I've ordered something from him before without problems, but I don't think I'll do it anymore. Same as Yaton..too many hassles and questionable quality.

Open the cart and check all the solder joints, sometimes broken solder can cause these issues. If you have the time I would just heat up every joint.

Yeah, heat up each joint and make sure you're getting a proper connection. It's amazing how mean "dead" or "dying" PCBs are brought back to 100% by just heating up the soldering iron for a few minutes. If shipping is a little rough, a lot of times a joint will become rattled and loose.

You mean where each chip comes in contact with the PCB? That seems like a LOT of effort to do each one. I'll check it out more closely....but I"m worried that I'll do more harm than good if I start heating up all the pins.

It only takes 1 second per pin. And we're talking about the eproms NOT the logic chips(square ones that are surface mounted).

And put a post in the Feedback Forum about that idiot seller. That'll help keep others from falling victim to his lies and excessive shipping.
