I played the CPS1 version of strider the other day, and got to the bit where you're upside down jumping, lost 1500 credits then swore never to play this classic turd again.

Strider for the Supergrafx is the one that was never released... and yeah the ACD one is a total turd. I can't believe it still sells for like $80 sealed.

This guy claims to have Strider for the PCE. I thought that this game never came out on the engine. Help appreciated.
Legit still it's a weaK port even while it has the extra stage in it.

It's still worth less to own i've even herd the animation is crap.

If ya wanna play, Strider on a console stick to strider on the PS1 or the Capcom Classic Collection vol2.

Btw some mod move this thread please........

What's the extra stage? The link above says the stage isn't in any other version... so this wouldn't be the train stage added to the x68000 version?

Somewhere in the house I have a 2 page preview in one of my old EGM's. I'll scan that up if I do ever find it. All they covered was the new exclusive desert stage and had a full map of it.

Nope, it's a desert stage with oil refinery pipes going every which way, and you battle Desert Storm era looking troops, with a freggin' HumVee that has a machine gunner at one point, with the final boss being an M-1 Abrams Battle Tank jacked up on steroids. The stage is best descrbied as the 1st stage of Metal Slug 2 with the 1st Stage of Strider Hiryu. A totally worthless stage that I myself got suckered into buying the PCE version of this game. I never knew of any Train stage of another version though. Interesting...

The Genesis port is better.
I'm still conflicted on what I like more, but I will say the Genesis port's washed-out look gave the sprites more style; Hiryu's leaner and sharper now. And the roboape's head bleeds, jawesome!

Hold on - the X68000 version had an extra stage as well.

:upf: Fuck me if true. :upb:

I never played the x68000 version myself... just vaguely remember screens of a (desert) train stage. I could be blending those images with the Egypt level from the NES version.

I like PCE ACD version :)

Never regret to spend $60 + when it first came out.
