Since the NDA has been lifted I can say this..

This game is basically a first person Phantom Dust. They've added some races to mix things up but at it's core you're running around using some special technique that either alters the environment or yourself. The special abilities are pretty nice and animate nicely and the different races add some variety but I can't see myself buying this game, I'll wait for the RPG that's supposed to come later. I don't really want to say much about the graphics since this is a beta but so far nothing spectacular. Anybody else make it into the beta?

I just got an email or two telling me to post about the beta and the game and what not, but I never actually got into the beta. At least I don't think I did...

I got in, but I did not know the NDA was lifted.

It's not a bad game, not as good as I was expecting from FASA Studios though. It looks way worse visually than what the screen shots convey. I'm not sure if I'll be buying it or not.

do you guys have any idea when the demo is coming out or how much it will be selling for?

I think it's slated for May release @ $59.99.

What we're playing now in beta is essentially close to finished, they're just tweaking and balancing it at this point. Another thing I forgot to add is that I don't really care for the weapons at all. You start with a basic pistol, can buy an SMG, Rifle, Shotgun, Sniper Rifle, Minigun, Rocket Launcher and Katana. Yet none of them feels "right" or has any oomph. In a FPS, getting the weapons right is step one, and none of these feel as good as the weapons in Halo 2 or Resistance felt.

I've been playing it on and off the last week.... Interesting game, but I just dont think its really for me. Guess I'm too used to traditional FPSs to really get into the feel of this. I'll keep trying it out though...

The good news is, it seems that they are going to keep adding people to the beta. So if you didnt get the invite earlier, you still have a chance.

I think the devs were putting most of their focus into the "verbs" of the game. Turning into smoke, teleport, creating tree's of life etc. Everything looks really good on paper, but frankly after a few matches I got bored. I really don't care for shooters anyway but I think they really needed to put more energy in to the weapons. Nothing worse than a shooter with lackluster weapons.

Still this game makes want more phantom dust. I need to pull that game out again...

Agreed 100%.

It complicates things a little too much for me. I do have to admit, it is pretty fun to watch people who really KNOW how to play. For me, gimme lots of weapons and no gimmicks.

I was interested in this game when I first heard about it. However, I guess it is going to be on line only, so I am sure that I will pass. I do play games on Live but I try to avoid games that have no off-line play.

I am still holding out hope for a Shadowrun MMORPG, or at least a regular Shadowrun console or PC RPG. :crying:

Shadowrun would be a natural for MMOs, especially if they kept the gameplay like in the genesis version. Would probably be the only game to get me back in to MMOs.
