Id like to point out this isnt 100percent BUT i have my suspicions.

I was pm'd by the new member dir_en_gry about my waku waku 7 and turfmasters mvs carts. When asked what she had to trade i was given a pretty big list of Naomi, CPS2 and MVS carts, some pretty rare.

It struck me as strange that someone this involved with games has only just registered on here in the last week. But apparently she only buys the games for her kids. This also struck me as strange as not many young kids get naomi mobos and games bought for them by their moms!!!

Anyway, i told her i wasnt interested in the games she had and she asked me what i was interested in. So I told her, and ten mins later she pms back saying she can get all 3 games ive asked for from her 'brothers arcade'. She would swap 2 for 2 and send me the 3rd one on good will pending payment next month.

It sounded a bit too good to be true but i carried on and she gave me an ebay account for feedback ratings. The strange thing being that the ebay account had never been used to by anything related to video games :spock:

Anyway she apparently sent the 3 games 4 or 5 days ago with a tracking number. I have pmd her 3 or 4 times since asking for this tracking number and she is now not replying to my pms :conf:

Like i say, if im wrong im going to feel like a total idiot and i apologise profusely to dir-en-gry right now if this is the case. But the 4 unanswered pms set alarm bells ringing. Anyone else had dealings? Do we have any dodgy game traders from near memphis TN?

Did you already send your games out?

It is a holiday weekend here in the states too, many people aren't even near a computer until Tuesday.

You can usually tell if someone's been logging in and not responding to PMs by checking their profile. J69 yhpm

I just did a trade with this person for a NG PS2 arcade stick and they told me that the delivery confirmation number to the package I was being sent got misplaced. I screwed up filling out their address and my games (2 DS, 1 GBA) are being sent back (perhaps I was lucky?).

Hopefully this is just paranoia and if it is I do apologize.

P.S. They did supply me with an ebay feedback link, I just contacted that account and will update this once I receive a response.

I had a pm off another member who also was nearly scammed.

Just noticed that the postal address she gave me was in arkansas whilst her profile says she is in TN

Im pretty convinced now that she is a scammer. She mananged to get 3 games from her brothers arcade in TN and post them from AR in around 6 hours :shame:

Well Memphis area where this Cordova is is only about 30 minutes from Arkansas if not closer. So logistically the time is ok.

She is trading me some MVS games but I made her ship first then after I get them we will complete the trade and she said she didn't have a problem with that.

So I will see here in the next few days If I get a package or not.

Memphis to Texas shipping should only be 2-3 days, so by Wednesday I should have a box of games if she is legit.

Thanks
Jeff

Also she mentioned going to OVGE in OK city and all.

Can anyone vouch for that? That might clear things up too some, as she said she went to it and got more hooked on the Neo scene

Thanks
Jeff

Doing business with someone who joined less than a week ago, and claims to have all these arcade titles is risky at best. I would have asked her to send first at the very least. I hope everything works out for you guys.

Well fortunately i didnt send mine until I had a tracking number. The fact she has traded with 4 or 5 people and none have received their goods yet doesnt look good

So does that mean you've received a tracking # now, or you're still holding your games pending one?

Just read up on Aaron Lewis and it does sound like his MO.

The address i got was

e.w.h.s.b.
1650 n sang #102
fayetteville, ar, 72703.

But the registered adress on here is in TN

And an ebay name that was probably just ripped off someone else. He/She has 3 or 4 deals at least going on with people having been registered less than a week and has stopped answering pms. Also hasnt been on for 2 or 3 days now.

What sort of nasty demented fuck robs people week in week out year after year. How do they sleep at night :very_ang: Ripping kids off for games they have spent their hard earned cash on. Really boils my piss.

Since you are new, it is understandable that you're not informed about the scammers that have plagued this forum over the last few years. Many people have been ripped off, so it is in the nature of members who have spent time here to be cautious. I wouldn't take it personally.

Always ask zero feedback/newb to send first.

No exception unless you have a jar of KY handy.

That is all.

Eh? So, because one person states an opinion, no one gets anything? You know, I also have a transaction with you. I asked numerous times for a tracking number, and both times it seems like you avoided the situation. Once you said, "After I eat" and I didn't get a reply.. and the next time I sent a pm you told me you were at a buddy's house and couldn't give me the number.

But to have you say that you're rerouting ALL of the packages? Sounds a little shady to me. I was very respectful to you in our pms, and to have you cancel our transaction (along with everyone elses) doesn't exactly sound fair, IF you truly intended to do so in the first place. It's a shame.. but it seems like I was right in asking you to send first, otherwise I might be out of a LOT of games right about now.

Hopefully this is all just a misunderstanding and the games still arrive on time. I'll give the benefit of the doubt until all is said and done.

This here is some shady shit. Fucking Aaron Lewis revisted.

I'd encourage everyone who has already sent out their trade items to re-route their packages and just forget about the whole ordeal.

Well, I just took the time to read up on the "AaronLewis" thread. Seems like a majority of the members here are way too trusting of people. Wouldn't surprise me at all if dir_en_grey is Will Henley or at least an accomplice. He's used the nick "I'm a neo chick" before, looks like this time he just decided to elaborate on the story a little more.

What I'd like to know is why you've all been so patient with this guy... On the forums I come from we band together anytime somebody gets scammed, contact his local authorities, the whole 9 yards. It's generally only involving a few deals or less for a few hundred dollars or less, and we still get shit done. I can't believe he was able to rip off as many members as he did and nobody took action against his ass... wtf? The reason he keeps coming back is because he can get away with it, why are you guys being such pussies?

dir_en_grey bought my component supergun last week, said she mailed the money order late last week so I should hopefully get it on tuesday. She sounded very friendly in the PMs and I'm looking forward to receiving the money, shipping out her item, and having a good transaction. I understand you guys are a bit paranoid about being ripped off, but this person doesn't strike me as a scammer.

I hope you are right. The last thing we need is another Will Henley here.

However, based on the details provided by members above and her response in this thread, something doesn't feel right. If you can't see that, you're not familiar with scammer tactics.

She lists her address as one state, yet has packages shipped to another. That alone is kind of fishy.

Like I said, I hope you're right and I'm wrong. Until that is proven I'd advise any members thinking about doing business with this person to wait until this pans out, or have her send first.

Good luck guys.

Re-routing the packages, thats convenient. I dont get a reply to 5 pms this week and as soon as i start this thread i get a nasty one :D

This is a scammer of the highest order, i dont care if 1,2 or 3 people get their gear. Its only to build trust til he/she rips someone off big time.
