Make a new subforum: "Boot or not?"

It would help take some clutter away from Tech Support. It could be a subforum actually located withing Tech Support (like I've seen in some other forums) or listed on the main page with the other forums.

That might actually be a good idea.

Actually, I would suggest titling it "Boot or No Boot?" and put it into a gameshow format.

Seriously though, have you asked the regular mods in that forum? If they'd be fine with it I don't see why not.

Well, it should be possible to create a sub-forum within tech so that each question wouldn't just cloud up a single thread, but I'm open to options. Again, I'd like to know JM_Kurtz's opinion as well as others who help mod the tech forums.

I like "Boot or no boot" more than "Boot or not". But call it whatever it needs to be called.

I'd say to make it a subforum of Tech Support so there's less clutter on the main page. Most people will come into Tech Support for bootleg identification purposes anyway.

I agree. I don't feel that a subforum is needed. What we do need is a good spam free thread on the subject containing information on common boots and how to spot them. As well as other information on the subject like pictures...etc...etc..

I think that either one would be a good idea and could help many of the members on the forums.

Many people have no idea what to look for when spotting a boot, and others on this board can spot it (with a picture of the boards of course) in a matter of seconds. That's where I think the subforum could be helpful, people post pics of the boards to get a more educated opinion on whether it's a boot or not.

Perhaps the section could be used to spot conversions as well (just thought of that).

Though I have absolutely no expertise in spotting a conversion, it would be appropriate for such a forum.
