sega-trader said:I too would be interested in doing this. Do you mind writing up a howto?
How about that new Gameboy Advance SP which is brighter that the original SP, would that work better, or is it simpler to work with the original SP lighting?Xian Xi said:The mod requires a front light from a Gameboy SP so if you have a sacrificial SP the mod can be done, as far as how much I charge I ask you at least cover return shipping + tip to cover parts and labor.

Xian Xi said:Actually the way I have it now is the best balance, the new SP I believe is backlit and thats how its brighter.
When I modded my NGPC first I made it too bright which has an adverse affect. Since the LCD inside the NGPC is color reflective, when you have too much light it starts coloring random pixels and the picture gets weird looking. But when I modded sliceypete's I found a better combination so I actually went back to mine and fixed it to the new settings and both have brilliant color and clarity.
I see, that's actually better for me, since I have 2 original SP's that are collecting dust since the new SP has been getting a lot of use lately.Xian Xi said:Actually the way I have it now is the best balance, the new SP I believe is backlit and thats how its brighter.

qube said:Very nice work man. I would be up for this right now...but I hate the idea of sac'ing a GBAsp for it
Is there any possibility you will be able to do this another way anytime soon, or are you pretty much just using the GBAsp's since it's easier that way? Are appropriate lights just too hard to find at this point?
Again man, that's good stuff, thanks for sharing.
Xian Xi said:I'm constantly searching for an alternative way, I am even thinking about just producing a mod kit if I can fit someone that can make the things I need. What I usually try to do is buy broken SPs and just take the lights out of them to put into the NGPCs. But sometimes they are hard to find for the right price($10 or less shipped).
Shawn Carr2o said:I used to have a GBA Sp before but I had traded it in and if I still had it I would sent you it to remove the light and then install it inside my NGPC handheld and I would let you keep the GBA Sp handheld for spare parts.
After my payment debts are all taken care of I will ship out my NGPC handheld to your address in Hawaii to have you install a light inside and I will pay the fees for it. I'll pm you sometime in the future.![]()
