That dosen't seem to be modded...looks and sounds just like mine. On my box it says happ competition stick and buttons. Maybe I am wrong, but it looks standard for the stick.

edit: I was wrong...says "Happ style buttons and joystick" on the box...I got it last year when it came out, rewired it for my neo and replaced the buttons with concave ones. After looking at the old buttons again, they are cheap knockoffs.

I don't believe you bought a Streetfighter stick with Happs for $60. You must not be familiar with Happ parts.

They are only 60$...and after double checking, they are happ style buttons and joysticks -- says exactly that on the box. The buttons do suck ass, but I had some extras from my cab that I replaced them with. The stick is ok, but I really just bought it for the case.

What's wrong with Happ? Got replacement Happ stuff for my cab... gee, can't remember when... and it all still works. Feels better than all the Japanese shit floating around, too. I can't stand the "light" feel, the hollow clicks... I end up botching stick moves and hitting buttons unintentionally. And when you pound on a button, you get a little "click." Yeah, I'll take American parts.

EDIT: Flame me all you want, just make sure it's vaguely on topic.

Happ's parts are shit. I can't stand the feel.

Are you referring to the strength required to move the stick? The pressure to push a button? The resistance on either of them? The shortness of the joysticks? There's a lot to controls' "style."

And I forgot to mention, another thing I cannot stand is convex buttons. Slip, slip, slip.

I also saw where they're selling refurbed Street Fighter sticks 2 for $69. That's not bad. Wonder why they're doing that? Of course the refurbs are stock and not happ upgrades.

I find that the "American" style joysticks seem to have more spring to them: They require more force to move and come back to the center quickly. Now I know that there are various degrees of "spring" to different types of joysticks. I am also aware that joysticks like Sanwas will help you find the corners easier. I don't have that problem. I just find the limited range of motion kind of restrictive. Also, buttons like Sanwas seem to require only a slight amount of pressure and don't give much tactile feedback. So far I still like the Happ parts (with the "bat shaped" joysticks-some of the round knobs on top of joysticks are just too big: they require a large range of motion). Call me old fashioned.

Oh yeah, I don't like convex buttons either.

i have sanwa buttons on my cab and they are very sensitive and i find that at times i wsh they were harder to push down. is there a site out there that compares all the majjor joysticks and buttons? if not i would make one and host it if i could find the info.

If I had the equipment, I'd be willing to test the sticks/buttons for range of motion, angle of switch activation, movement force, button push force, spring forces, etc. But I don't.

I'm just pointing out the same sort of reasoning you use could be used to describe Happ's shit too.

personally, I don't care. Although seeing a convex button on the Cap vs SNK 2 machine at school FALL APART to the point where the top literally will fly off if you hit it wrong really makes me happy I went sanwa.

I just got done modding mine with new buttons and a stick. I have to get plugs for 2 of the buttons (not used) and some 24 mm pushbuttons for start and select. The buttons and joystick I used were from a demolish fist kit, there better all around and so is the new joystick.
