hmm a question guys...
so with this mod we can just switch the battery normally? or do you have to switch it when the board is powered on?
i'm so close into buying a cps3 but the battery suicide is keeping me away from it.
also, how long does the battery usually last?

ray_7: The method of replacing the battery in the future is dependent on which security cart version you have. The 2nd gen security cart battery swap is done as you have described; swapping the battery out while the cart is inserted after the game has finished booting. A 1st Gen security board (w/ ground wire) will require that you supply backup battery power to the cart before the battery can be swapped out. Both cart versions can easily have their batteries swapped once my battery holder modification has been performed. A typical lithium battery in this application can have a life span of 4-6 years easily. However, I always recommend that you replace the battery sooner rather than later so 4 years would be the max I would wait before swapping the battery.
