this caught my attention:

304.jpg

supposedly this wasn't released but looking at this picture it seems that it was factory produced. I'm wondering if it didn't get a very limited release. looking at another picture I found it used a trackball to controll.
I'm also wondering if Sushi Bar could have come out extremely low key. doubtful eh?
whatever the case if there is a proto, surely its finished and in cart form. interesting...

Nice find, this is the list of unreleased AW games:

Premier Eleven
Sushi Bar
Force Five
Dirty Pigskin Football
Kenju

I'm pretty sure there are protos of all or most of them. Sushi Bar, Force Five and Kenju have been shown in playable form in loke tests or shows. We see a Premier Eleven cart in that pic (hopefully it isn't just a blank cart with a sticker). There are pics of a Dirty Pigskin cab with a speciall football controller and that's all I think.

Alrite, yes i can shed some light on this.

If you notice in that thread Devilredeemed posted, a guy @ NTSUK claimed when getting in touch with Sammy Europe that some games were shelved, one of them was Chase 1929, not sure if Premier Eleven was.

Regardless, my local arcade has both. Chase 1929 has a dedicated cab.....as much as they can be, it's probably a standard twin cab from Sammy but has all the art and decals.

Premier Eleven we have on a deluxe Naomi sit down. Sorry to go OT but why do these have the AW button set up? Have they always been that way (it's next to a Neowave which of course has the full 5 button set up).

Premier Eleven is using a stick and 3 button set up......like is said to DR, it is playable this way but rather wooden (much like Virtua Striker XX) and feels like it should have, or at least benefit from an analogue set up.

Graphically it's nothing special, under Virtua Striker 2000.1 level, but the music is ok and the pre match scenes are well done, the presentation makes up for lack of graphical flair overall. Everything is solid as opposed to other Sammy games like Faster than Speed & Chase 1929 which look more like the more recent Rush 20XX titles for jaggies & warping.

Edit - The game was programed by DIMPS, ill ask about the supply next time i'm down there.

LOL i just noticed in this thread Dirty Pigskin is said to be an unreleased, we have that too and ive played it.

It's in the standard AW cab with changable control panel, and indeed the *stick* is am American football. I'm not entirely sure it's analogue, direction makes you run at the same speed regardless of pressure, im sure it would be fine on a standard stick. Thought the *football* controller does have a button on it, and there are another 2 regular buttons for pass/change player & tackling. I cant remeber what the button on the football does, but its not exciting heh.

This game is like mid 90's Midway but without digitised characters if you get what i mean. Overly American, basically it's a simple game of american football in the NBA Jam OTT style, you pick a team made of particular sterotypes such as FBI agents in suits or prison inmates in orange jumpsuits etc. Graphics are sharpe solid but nothing special, wouldnt look out of place on a regular highstreet PS2 release.

FYI these are the AW games down here:

Dirty Pigskin Football
Maximum Speed
Ranger Mission
Extreme Hunting
Chase 1929
Premium Eleven
KOF Neowave
Faster than Speed

Well, maybe that list of unreleased games refers to USA only (with Sushi Bar being a Japan-exclusive title, but I don't know if it was actually released there). It's nice to see they are available in the UK. Actually didn't somebody mention he saw Force Five and/or Kenju in the UK?
All the Dirty Pigskin info I have is from the same link as Pang posted. I thought it would be released in the USA as it makes much more sense there, so it's a wonder why it is in the UK instead.
And I had totally forgotten about Chase 1929, more info on it would be nice.

yeah someone posted a link to another forum (I think dedicated to Soul Calibur?) where they claimed that Force Five was or had been at a London arcade (I think it may have been the Trocadero one) - not sure if it was a play test though. they've tested fighting games without saying they where tests in London arcades in the past.

Chase 1929 is Chase HQ mixed with Carmageddon set in Mafia style period. You drive through the city & sometimes rougher terrain on a pretty much pre-set path bashing your car into other driven targets and then a boss character who can often shoot at you. You have to destroy the targets before the timer runs out, you get more time by running down people on the streets and other obstacles. The graphics have nice style but are rather jaggy, same standard as faster than speed, probably on the same engine by the looks of them.

I've seen screen shots of that before, is the game any good? It looks bad ass.

Dude that sounds awesome! The more and more I hear about Atomiswave the more and more I think I'm going to end up either buying a devoted upright (probably with Hokuto No Ken) for the GK Mini Arcade here @ Natorm Headquarters, or find someone (whoever did AmanoJacu's) to consolize me an AW system, which will probably be the route I take. So far I want the game you're mentioning of Chase 1929, Hokuto No Ken, Demolish Fist, Dolphin Blue and Metal Slug 6. Seems now it's worth it to go the AW route indeed.

Yeah Ranger Mission is quite good, the graphics are pretty decent it's an on rails gun game, set in modern times of war the trick with this one is each level you are set a weapon to use, like first off you'll have a pistol then next a shotgun which can take out multiple baddies in one shot......then a lock on rocket launcher for boss style levels being chased down by choppers or running round a field to avoid a tank.....then also like sniper levels. The initial training level is pretty cool wheer multiple enemies will run into position within your view witha corresponding number to indicate which needs to be taken out first.

It's pretty common you should track an arcade that has it i think you'd dig it.

a bit from Gamespot's report on AW 2004 lineup - Force Five.

http://www.gamespot.com/all/news/news_6086630.html

Sammy's Atomiswave 3D fighting game Force Five was also on display. Force Five was already seen at the 2003 AM Show, but the concept behind the game seemed to have been tweaked. The game previously ran with a unique system where each stage consisted of five, 20-second bouts. The game now runs in a standard two-bout format. The damage that attacks can inflict has been greatly toned down from the demo shown during the AM Show, where a single combination could nearly deplete all of an opponent's life. Force Five is scheduled for release this spring.
wow.
5, 20 second bouts where you could virtually kill the oponent with a single combo - sounds amazing. the tension in a game with such an idea sounds great. I would love to get my hands on that earlier build (Jesus coming down to play some KOF with me is more of a possibility).

should check this article out by the way - there's a link to what was expressed at the AM show back then about Sammy vs Capcom. very interesting in hindsight.

and from insert credit:
(full 3D). The product they showed felt nearly finished, but they intend to release it after The Rumblefish so there may be some changes in the final version. The game in itself didn't feel that great when compared to other 3D fighting games, especially to Virtua Fighter 4 Evo. But the low cost of the Atomiswave may push the game forward. Update: Seems some people from Tekken worked on it, and the movement shows this.
that's interesting!

I'm thinking about doing various threads on the scrambled info I can find on the various AW games - the one's with no apparent release in particular. like little faqs. just for kicks.

That was me who posted that link to shoryuken.com - sadly it doesn't work anymore (though it did not contained that much info to begin with). And yeah, that arcade was indeed the Trocadero one.

Btw, I've read on the german ArcadeRick forum that there's a rumour floating around that both Kenju and Force Five might still get a release:

http://www.atlus-cave.com/wbb230/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=568

Unfortunately, no source for that rumour has been given ...
