Great preview.

As we can see from SNK's upcoming lineup, however, the creative department at SNK is ready for a change now that it's moved on to the Atomiswave hardware.

I found that hilarious though.

KOF 2003 only allowed for tagging in when you weren't executing a move.

Idiots!!!!! You could combo into a tag and then the tagged in partner got an extra few hits.

You´re the idiot. You could only tag during combos by linking it (which is doing it after a move is finished). There was NO cancelling into tag.

But i bet you don´t even know the difference.

But the combo continued...it is not reset, so its all one combo. They made it sound like you had to just be standing there to tag in.

in all fairness, that comment was meant towards the "fifth button" being SNK was restricted to 4 for all those years

While SNK's other upcoming fighter, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, hasn't received high marks from players beta testing the game in Japanese arcades, the reaction to KOF XI has been quite favorable thus far.

damn, I figured with all this time to work on NGBC, they'd have fixed some of the areas gamers complained about. I hope that comment was based on the loke test they had a while back.

I know that, but what's so creative about that? It's not like it does anything amazing. It ain't nothing more than the CD's for older games right?

right

but I guess it's something the old SNK wanted for it's games

personally, I like the 4 button layout as you never have to move your fingers around

Which is why I wondered what was so creative about it. They couldn't use the extra button for weird features for ever.

By pushing the Heat Button when not making attacks or being hit, the player character flashes red and Heat Mode activates!

The character's attack strength rises substantially, but life energy, conversely, decreases gradually. Using this when opponents are defenseless or off guard has a devastating effect.

Not something I would ever really use unless you could only do some DM's while in this mode.

far from creative

I think they should've stuck to the 4 button scheme

now if I mod my Mas stick for PS2 use, I'll have to figure out a way to add a 5th button

bastards

It's such a tell when you compare GGX sprites and graphics to KOFXI on the atomiswave to see how lazy SNK has become.

the high rez looks nice

but those GGX sprites don't animate as nice (IMO, I know, sue me) and are in a goofy style I don't care for

If SNKp could take the KOF style, make sprites in high resolution, and give it the same animation

it'd be:

SNKP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anything GG could do

in other words, SNKP could take fighting games over the top if they weren't so freakin' lazy

till then, I'll take Capcom's 3s as the best of the best

the sprites aren't as low res as SNKP's and they have a hell of a lot more character and animation than anything those Arc system boys could come up with
