I've just got this 2-slot board, it is different to the 2-slot featured and pictured at hardmvs (there it is mentioned as MV2F but according to MKL it is a MV2) , as it lacks memory card reader and headphone jacks, although I think there is room and connectors for them:

Did somebody come across it before?

Since I have a lot of free time this summer I might try to ghetto-consolize it, just by wiring a scart cable with RGB video and sound and din-5 for a sc200 psu, and that's all. I will possible ask for help here. Otherwise I might just sell it for what it costed me.

EDIT:

I just did the ghetto-consolization this morning. Since this is my first time attempting something like this I prefered to do it in a JAMMA female connector so I could be sure I didn't damage the board. I just soldered there a din-5 connector for my sc200 and a scart cable for video and stereo audio (it doesn't even have a on/off switch). I wish I had the ability to mount a couple of connectors and a switch in the metal casing :crying:

I have had one of those...

I speculate that you could add a Memory Card connector out of an AES to it.

It's not a different version, just a MV2F with removed memory card reader and headphone jacks.

An AES doesn't have the memory card guide though and only one headphone jack. And why ruin a home system when you can get all you need from a MV-IC?

The one I had looked like the memory card reader was never present....

I have a few aes machines that I use for parts...

Well, there are several other differences with the 2-slot pictured at hardmvs:

The DIP switches, bios and several other chips are placed differently. And as norton says it looks to me the memory card reader was never present, but I have no way to know this.

I think he meant it was the same board just with the card socket assembly and headphones jack intentionally left off.

Amano Jacu - Where did you get it from?

cheers,

I got here in Barcelona from a friend who deals a lot with used arcade stuff, he has contacts with the local distributors and arcades. I was going to get it for somebody else who finally declined it, and since my friend had gone through the trouble of getting it out of storage, testing and cleaning it, I finally decided to buy it for myself, although I might try to sell it for the same price in the future.

That's a MV2. Yours is a MV2F, like this:

(battery, bios and memory card guide removed by me)

I had one just like yours. The mem card reader and headphone jacks were never put on. Maybe a cost saving measure later on? I consolized it and traded it to qube. I just bought one of those add-on memcard and phone PCBs that is meant for use with the 4 slots and 6 slots. I desoldered all three parts and soldered them onto the 2 slot. Everything works fine.

Amano, what's the serial number on that 2-slot?
