It's almost a cliche to say Screaming for Vengeance is, but that and Defenders Of The Faith are a tie.

Danzig 2 - Lucifuge. IMO was Glenn at his best.

Devil's Plaything ranks as one of my all time fav songs.

According to my poll, Ram it down has the best name.

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107265&highlight=priest

I do like Turbo. Especialy when Ripper did Turbo Lover on tour.

But the best JP album of all time has to be:
Sad Wings of Destiny

Hands down the best.

Sure it doesn't have Living after midnight, Grinder, hell bent for leather, elecrtic eye or painkiller........

But:
Victim of Changes is awesome.
The ripper is classic
Dreamer Deciver is a nice change of tempo
Tyrant and Gencocide are some of my favorite priest songs
Epitaph is Erie
Island of Domination kicks ass.

Wow lots of confidence for TURBO.

It was the first JP album I ever bought. Got the cassette for $4 on my Senior Trip in 97 at a truck stop (along with Ozzy's "Just Say Ozzy" EP Cassete). I liked it. I knew ALMOST nothing about priest at the time and this was before Halford came out of the closet.

Despite my ignorance, I was pretty sure that Turbo Lover was really about two guys.

I like Turbo and I really liked Ripper OWens doing it. I prefer his live boots to any Halford Boot.

-Seriously.

I always wondered about Halford.

Any man who wears suspenders with leather pants is suspect. :kekeke:

Sure!

Seriously, we don't need JP with Halford again. He's back for what, just for live shows? And we will never see the Owens song live again because that... I prefer the new stuff that Owens was doing. Different from the classic JP, but good stuff, a new sound that the actual metal scene was needing so bad.

JP's Owens albums were the only new music that I was buying.

Halford is back for an album also.

Makes sense.

Halford Solo > Jugulator and Demolition.

I really didn't like the Iced Earth Stuff with Owens.
I haven't heard his Solo yet.

Even Halford at his best (82-86) could never pull off live what Owens Can. As I sort though my boots and live recordings, I distinctly prefer Owens.

For JP stuff, I prefer the early, bluesy stuff like Roca Rola, Sin after SIn and Sad Wings.

Sure the songs on Britsh steal are masterpices, but I like the early stuff better.

Yeah, this whole thing was a big domino effect on me. Owens is a much better singer overall. Thes Halford comeback is just a big fanboy BS to me. JP with is very different form the older JP, but it was exactly the type of sound that I wanted to hear these days. That was cool if all the older metal bands "aged" that way.

To me:
JP with Owens > Halford solo
Original Iced Earth > Iced Earth with Owens (I just think that the original vocalist that made IE sound that distinctive)
But Owens solo with a good musicians roster must own so hard.

But I was surprised to hear how good Owens was able to hold the older IE songs, style-wise.

Even Tony Martin with Sabbath is pretty cool

Much better than a lot of thrash that we see these days.

I liked the Tyr and Forbidden Albums.

But My favorite Post Ozzy singer will always be RJD.

I used to live around the corner from where Dio grew up. There is even a street named after him.

I also here that the stuff martin did with some Italian Guitar Virtuosos is quite good.

The greatest visual (and rock tshirt) of all time is Dio's 'Holy Diver' album cover

So incredibly over the top

I have a long sleeve one- I wear it out whenever I think I may mingle with alot of Christians :)
