That's pretty pimp. Good thing I have a flash linker advance. :D

You should get a gameboy player if you don't have one already.

Looks GREAT. Sort of looks like a remix of the first? Is this an all new game, or are old levels in there, too? Anyhow, that vid looks incredible. I can't wait.

It's 3 parts original, 1.5 parts re-mix. I'm not to crazy about their slight re-designed looks, but despite that the game looks fucking amazing! It's just too bad this game has to be on a "portable" system. I'd have shit bricks if it had of been on the XBOX and would've even bought another one just for that game alone. Now I've got to buy yet another GBA SP or DS (since I sold my DS early on) just to play this. TREASURE finally made the dreams of the hardcore few come to life.

All things considered, it's probably cheap enough at this point to buy a used GC and a GBA Player to enjoy it on your TV with a decent (enough) controller.

Plus you'll get a metric ton of other GBA old school lovin 2D games on there to boot (castlevania's, metroids, etc).

Great idea, but I wish these guys would stop putting the cool shit like this on hand-helds. Gimme a Gunstar on Ps2, or al least PSP.

I hear ya, Merc, I wish it was for a home system as well, but since it looks like the Nintendo's handhelds appear to be one of the last stands 2D gaming, I think I'll support the cause. I think I'll pick up a DS at the Nintendo World Store opening.

It doesn't get any better then this controller folks. From Astro Boy, to Castlevania, to MSA, you need this controller if you have a GBA player. I bought it soley for my gba player and ikaruga.

gaming bliss.

can't wait until this shite comes out.

i wish i had some dough to get a DS though

So where's that controller sold? Anywhere at a store level, or am I forced to order it online? I'd love to walk into a Gamestop and buy it.... no?

JPN only, you'll have to get it online. Definitely worth a buy though. Works WONDERFUL with Viewtiful Joe as well. Hori is where its at. You can get it in purple or black too.

The local stores didn't have the game so had my father not brought it for me and my bro from his trip to HK we prolly would never have played it. Awesome game.

I personally don't have an SP but my sister does. Mooching is good.

dont you wish they went all the way and converted the 4 buttons to the snes trapezoid pattern? it makes zero sense to me that that they gave us an old school controller but kept the hideous button layout of the gc.

Hmmm. I was super skeptical. The original Gunstar Heroes was okay, but hindered greatly by the WAAAAAAAAAy overpowered homing shot (if you check out the vid in the link it appears to be super weak - had to hit a generic baddie 4 times to kill him and it was a slow 4 hits). I hope you don't have to do any silly refights of bosses, either.

Hmkay, you're my new best friend. An arcade version would have been tops - but I'm sure it would have lost a bit of its charm. Even Merc was quick to mention the slight stylization change in this version. Treasure is very hit and miss, but I think they have a good idea of who is buying their games. A drastic change would lose a lot of faith from their followers (sad to say, as it's a bit ironic since Treasure tries to keep things fairly fresh).

Ever since Infogrames brought Ikaruga to the States (albeit with a shitty IGN quote plastered on the cover), Treasure has been slowly creeping its way into the homes of gamers who'd otherwise pass up something not as mainstream as what the Big T offers. Gradius V was mighty tasty. Does anyone know if they happen to be planning another game along the lines of Sin and Punishment?
