This might not be so bad, especially if the newly merged company is called "Bamco." :loco:

That, and all of the wannabe-RPGs that Namco has been making as of late stink. Bandai might be able to give them some real storylines to build games around... to say nothing of their potential to come up with a half-decent Tekken anime.

To sum up, this merger doesn't really scare me. Bandai isn't dumb enough to screw up the Tekken game series, and Namco doesn't have much of anything else worth protecting.

Even the great Namco could not make a good Dragon Ball Z game. There is and will never be such a thing.

Namco also has a lot of games worth protecting. The Tekken series would not even be at the top of my list. (this is all my opinion of coures) ;)

WORD.

I for one would like to see them bring out a new Rolling Thunder game, and some of their new stuff arcade wise (that should have no reason not coming out on a console) is pretty bad ass like the gun game based on Buchi Terasawa's Space Adventure Cobra as he takes on the Space Pirate Guild and Crystal Boy with his Psycho Gun. >> COBRA THE ARCADE. Then there's that bad ass looking PS2 game Urban Regin that may very well succeed where other 3-D brawlers have failed. Actually looking like a good "Bare Knuckle (Streets of Rage) alternative. NAMCO has much to have fucked with if some dill weed who knows fuck ass about this or that starts mashing buttons and jumping around like a monkey. It's happened before to other companines so Namco better watch their six. :annoyed:

And Cobra The Arcade is done by the Time Crisis dev team, and I hear that it's just like TC, only in space.

Man, everyone is teaming up these days. I just hope Namco becomes the dominant force in this merger (as far as game making goes). Bandai should just say "Look, we suck at making games, here's all our games, please make them good."

I forgot Soul Calibur then. Anime News Network says what I am trying to say, but they did it way better...

"The two companies are expected to compliment each other's market weaknesses. Bandai is has a strong stable of character rights, but is weak in technology, while Namco is a video game technology leader but has few stong character brands."

Funny enough, I agree with the Tekken not at the top of my list because well, Namco has always Kicked mucho butt in the old school arcade scene. Whenever Namco goes oldschool, they really shine (IMO). Not saying that Tekken is anything less than good stuff; I'm just pointing out the excellent points of Namco. Heck, even the new Ridge Racer kind of brings the point home, integrating all sorts of reminders to stuff like Rally X even as far as seeing split times between cars in front of you and behind you. You know that stuff brings a smile to the face of one playing it. Why? Because they remember Namco oldschool arcade rules. Kind of like Sega AM2, Namco, and to some point (Midway). They seem to know that there's this bit of magic, they can always resurface, if they simply go back and make another oldschool game. Even if it looks new, they know oldschool like no other. My post the other day more or less punctuated the necessity for Namco to port all those arcade games they keep neglecting to bring to the new consoles and audiences. No need to be shy, Namco. We know they kick butt.

What a load of bollocks. You've obviously never played Hyper Dimension on the Super Famicom then?

Meh... That game is weak and repeditive....

Bottom line Namco has fallen off, happened a long time ago. Fuck Tekken and many of their not-so-great games. You would think that the company who made Pac-Man and Galaga could do better then they have done in the last decade.... then again, 20 years ago you would think the same about Atari........

Not at all, 1P game is very extensive lots to unlock, and 2P games are very fast & furious and not forgetting most important of all FUN!

Budokai 3 is everything but good. It's still leaps and bounds ahead of the first two, but it is far from good or great. More like okay and acceptable. Until Capcom makes a 2D fighter with Dragonball characters I know it will never happen.

Good news, mergers tend to sprout new, better games.

And regarding good Dragon Ball Z games, the Dragon Ball Z 2 and 3 on Superfami were great games.
