Dear William and the crew from NEO-GEO,

I am writing to you and everyone involved for this very thoughtful, kind and generous surprise that all of you planned for Shawn. I would like to express my gratitude for the happiness you have brought into my sons life. I have seen Shawn come out of his shell since we gave him a laptop. This is Shawn's connection to the outside world and he has met a lot of wonderful people. Shawn has never expressed his thoughts of his illness to anyone besides his family. He has found friends that he truly trusts. Shawn will continue to remember and enjoy this act of kindness forever.

Thank you for your donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This disease has taken my brother at the age of 17. Shawn's cousin Andre also has MD, he is 15. Any donations is appreciated so that one day they will find a cure. Your money also provides for other patients for medical care, wheelchairs, beds, medical supplies, etc. as well as research. Shawn has been through so many surgeries and hospitalizations, but he is strong. Shawn is a trooper. It is hard to see him live with his condition everyday, but he is beating the odds. Usually patients with Duchenne's MD don't live past the age of 20. With all the new advancements in medical care and discoveries, he is 27 years old and still going strong.
