Yaton (james)

Hi,

I have bought lots of carts of James and have found him to be very reliable with postage and packaging. Delivery time depends on how much you wana pay. The carts are fine but as stated in his auctions the labels are fakes. But carts work fine and if any don't work he just sends another no questions asked.

Kind Regards
Ryan

Well, I just sent Yaton a Paypal payment for 20 non-bootleg MVS carts for a deal negotiated over e-mail (since I didn't want a lot of the carts he had up on his eBay bundles). I'll let you guys know how things go.

Anyone else order directly from Yaton and skip eBay altogether? Dodgy packaging aside, he seems to have a good reputation.

yeah ive dealth with him twice so far, good guy. His pictures may be misleading though, i bought a Kizuna MVS with fake label. the picture on the auction was a clear cart and i got a black hockey puck cart. I know its not a big deal but im just saying...but good seller definitly. Shipping can take a bit because hes from Canada though, but worth it. Very good prices and a good selection.

I have a Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5, King of Fighters 2001, and King of Fighters 2003 kit coming from him. I'll post up my impressions once I receive them.

Yao ships full kits in a box that is a tiny bit bigger than the kit box, thus they arrive in nice condition. At least that's how they've been shipped for me, very happy with his kit shipping, no "wrap the kit in paper and put a shipping label on it" bs.

Chris this is the worst packing job ever...I am so dissappointed. No packing and the box is thin as like 3 sheets of paper. Iam gonna take a picture of the box and show you. Iam surprised my kits werent damaged to shit. They were dented when I got them because of the shipping but thats it. Everything counts...but this just gets to me. I said "pack well" but he didnt use anything. I am kinda frustrated about that. Argh!!!

Plus I wanna buy some other kits from him...as he's the only one that sells them. I might have to take that chance then yet again.

There wasn't much conversing in my transaction with him. Discuss shipping, and sent out items. But he was kool about shipping. Originally he was supposed to charge $10+another $5 for each cart after that. $40 didn't make sense to me, so I emailed him to questoin this, and brought it down to $25. CooL GuY

Don't know why he has so many copies of "one title" Leads me to question this.
Anyway bought 8 carts and they look good. Came in 6 days. Fast, especially from Canada. Haven't tested yet because still waiting for my Supergun that taking mother-trucking forever :blow_top:

But I'll run test each of them and tell if guys if I find anything wrong with them.

Hmm, he just e-mailed me to refund one of the carts in my order (KoF 2000) since he said it wasn't working. I guess he does check for working copies in advance.

Use the search function, gentlemen. Long story short: Yao FOUND (yes, found) a warehouse of abandoned MVS games. Thus many are in pretty nasty condition (so he puts fake labels on now, wish he'd just leave the shitty originals on) and might need to have the dust blown out, but they're at least about 90% legit (and if you get a boot its unintentional and he'll gladly replace it, I've had no problems but others have gotten replacements very easily) or more. And he is good about communicating when necessary, but not very conversational. When you consider how many carts he sells, it makes sense that he would probably send form e-mails.

He's a great seller, no need for all the suspicion. Use the search button and you'll see that I'm not the only one who will say that.

James and I had a good talk. He's a good man...and he refunded me my shipping difference. I talked to him about packing and he knows I was dissappointed and unhappy about it. Everything is good now...and Ill definitely buy from him again. :tickled:

Just as a side note, I don't think any of us are doubting Yaton. It's just kind of entertaining talking about this guy since most of us are buying 10-30 carts at once from him. You don't have that experience with most sellers ;)

Just adding my experience with the famous Yaton.

Received 19 out of 20 of my carts. He refunded the 20th (KoF 2000) since he said it wasn't working when he tested it.

The packaging was awesome. Each cart was in an individual bubble wrap sleeve sized for MVS carts and each cart came in its own individual box. Kits are minty fresh--didn't look like they had ever been opened (the cardboard slots where you open the box weren't bent/creased at all).

I haven't checked for bootlegs yet, guess I'll do that next weekend. I think Yaton checks for boots now since when I asked him about a specific game I was looking for, he told me he had the boot but not the original. Also assured me that he doesn't sell boots.

The games themselves were pretty clean, though on the dusty side. I don't really see the need to clean them. A few of the games had dirty/dusty contacts (KoF 95, LB2, SS2, etc.) but after blowing hard and popping the game in and out of the MVS mobo a few times, all graphical/sound issues went away.

Oddly enough, two of the new games I bought had issues. Metal Slug 4 was glitchy on the 2nd Stage boss (graphics got all garbled). Blew air, put the game back in, finished the game without a single problem. KoF 2003 had weird sound (seemed like one channel was cut out entirely) but after blowing and putting the cart in and out a few times, it cleared itself up. I'm not sure whether I should assume that these might be boots, or that the contacts were just dusty or whatever since the games (presumably) hadn't been played before.

Anyway, he gave me a nice discount since I bought so many games from him.
Loose carts: Blazing Star, King of Fighters 94/95/96/98/99, Last Blade 1/2, Metal Slug 2/X, Samurai Shodown 1/2/3/4, Waku Waku 7
Complete kits: KoF 2001/2003, Metal Slug 4/5

Got my games in less than 2 weeks from China and Canada.
