I have gotten Frog Feast (a Frog Bog clone) to the point where the frog can be completely controlled.

A preview version (for Mame), can be downloaded from Game Shoppe .

The Neo Geo CD version should be up shortly.

I've switched over to using the NeoDev GCC compiler with custom assembly routines to make the game logic easier to implement. The game logic is shared between the Genesis/Sega CD version, making it easier to maintain both versions.

No offense, but if I wanted to play games that look like something my Atari would play, I'd turn on my Atari.

Those graphics are better than Ataris could do. At least in terms of resolution.

Ida know. I wouldn't mind low res graphics if there were a bunch of games put together.

Why doesn't anyone home brew a trivia game, I'd deffinately buy that.

Maybe for the same reason why nobody bothered to translate the NEO's quiz games?!;)

No offense, but Frog Bog is an Intellivision game, not Atari. And it happens to be one of the best games I've ever played.
Actually, it will be a challenge to port it fully to Neo Geo because Intellivision had quasi-analog controllers which were fully used in this game to determine how the frog would jump.
Anyway, when it's finished, I'll be glad to burn it on CD and play it on my CDZ.

Looking good!

Sorry the hijacking, but does anybody knows about that dude who was developing a SoTN port to the Neo? Does he have a site?

You're supposed to eat flies, but it's not to the point yet. This is a preview release that shows the frog under joystick control.

This is my first effort at completing a game for the Neo Geo, and I wanted to start small. This allows me to build up my routine collection before tackling a bigger project. It also allows me to make the smaller mistakes without ruining a proect or wasting a lot of time. One of the things I've learned is that C is easier than asm for Neo Geo development, but C still allows the time critical stuff to be written in asm.

This will also be useful in guaging the interest in the Neo Geo scene for homebrew software.

(This demo has also being released for the Genesis/Sega CD and Neo Geo CD. A TG16/CD version is right around the corner followed shortly by a CD-I version).

I don't really know if this is an update, but I'd never heard of this game until today...

I was searching on images.google.com, and got a link to the Frog Feast page.

Well there's a Neo MVS source there, and some of you guys have eprom burners.... so I'm suprised we haven't seen more Frog Feast MVS for sale.

Perhaps could Southtown supply these?

Is this game worth sacrificing a cart for? I haven't played the finished version, so I don't know.

there's actually a rom of this game on my modded box. it's shitty so far. i guess it's a recent build of it, because there are no flies, and all you have are two frogs who jump back and forth from pad to pad. it's a pretty lame game
