CD Front Loader Tray Problems!

Hi Everyone,

I've just imported from Japan a Neo Geo Front loader CD System, in real mint condition, but the Neo Geo powers up fine and displays the cd menu screen on the TV, but when you put the cursor over the flashing eject icon and press button A you can hear the drive trying to eject but it just does nothing, it seems to have power but is unable to eject the tray, I understand that this is a common problem but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what the problem could be and if I can fix it.

If the CD tray is driven by a belt thats the first thing to check- probably a slipping /stretched belt.

Ive never seen a ngcd so not sure if its belt or cog/gear driven. If the latter then perhaps the plastic gear is slipping on the motor shaft.
It should be easy to identify the problem imho.

The tray is knocked out of alignment...It's hard for me to explain online, but if you open it up and unscrew it all you'll see where it's messed up.
