Hi all,

Sorry prob been asked a million times but what do dips 2 and 3 do?

Also did SNK produce a complese list of all DIP settings? And can you push down a combination of DIP switches for different effects?

2 is VS mode
7 is freeplay

it like USA mode where both players get their own credit display. Only certain games support it though.

Oh right ok I get what you mean, wow thats not really all that great is it, any real point to it other than being able to see how many credits you have left?

What about dip 3 any idea what that does?

You only need 2 and 7 don't mess with the others.

they are for linking to another cab. If you dont have another cab they'll mess yours up.

1 is test mode
8 is pause
you can use those 2 though.

It depends on your Bios, but this is pretty standard

Hard DIP's 2 and 3 have different meanings depending on the BIOS.

Japan bios (rev5)

In case you don't know;

'COIN SWITCH' allows the USA BIOS to switch between 2 or 4 coin inputs.

'COIN MODE' allows VS MODE which will change the coin layout to one like the USA bios for some games only (mainly fighters). This allows a coin input for 1UP and another for 2UP, in effect a single player to start on player 2 side. This is not possible in the normal JAPAN or EURO BIOS.

'STOP MODE' pause the system during gameplay.

Where can I get the games to have audio during demo mode? My friend has JAP bios so the softdip/harddip stuff we cant read. Isnt there a way to set this for ALL games we play? Demo Sound always ON?

Let me see if I can explain this...If worst comes to Worst I'll change the Setting in the Candy Cab to Japanese..and help you..

Go into the Soft Dips..(Press Test Switch)

You have to change cabinet settings to demo sound on withing that.

That would be the third one down.(Setting Up The soft Dip)

The Next Screen with be :......Choose "Setting Up The Cabinet"..First Selection.

Next Screen :go to the Bottom/select that and change it...It only has two selections ("Without" and Set-Up in Each Game"..So if you change it the sound should work now after restarting the cab or backing out/Exit.....(Back Out press,B until you get back to the first screen choose the bottom choice,"EXIT"..If you can't just turn the cab off and on...the settings should save.

If no sound..
Go back into "Setting up the Cabinet" where the games are listed..And Choose "Demo Sound On" in each game..
I think it's on by default..But where the setting is located in each game varies in the list of changes you can make.

Let me know,if he needs more pics info etc..I can also send them via email etc..

I took these picks from the two slot/Neo Gold..The only difference is the game lists in a 4 slot will be two more.

If he needs I can take the same screen shot picks in Japanese using the UNI Bios chip in the Candy cabs 4 slot.

That's what I should of did...but I had a Taito F-3 mobo in that cab today.
The 4 Slot mobo is back in the Candy now so I can now do that if he needs my too.

If DIP 3 isn't used how do I use the Joystick ports on my 4 slot (also mv-1, m-1f, or 2/6 slot) w/ universe bios 2.0?? Normally I would turn DIP 3 on to enable these AES compatible (majhong controller) ports in the bios, correct? Does the universe bios just leave them on all the time?

The mahjong controllers require a japanese bios. The actual joystick ports will work with the normal sticks though no matter the dip settings.
