I'm large and in charge so i'm not sure if i'll like it. Fucking EB balance burning a hole in my pocket. I've never owned a racing wheel of any sort.

I really like mine. The shifter makes me feel all cool and stuff. I know at my local Sams club they have them for 110.00 bucks too. If you really want to get the most out of GT4, id go for it.

I was wondering the same thing. Is there a clamp to a table top, since it's force feedback or what? I want, I want! :drool_2:

Looks like frys has it for $99 ($119 with $20 rebate) with purchase of GT4, yesterday and today only.

I might have to buy it. I'm a sucker for shit like this. :emb:

The wheel is tits.

that's all there is too it.

One of the finest force feedback devices yet.

There are clamps on the underside, non removable as far as I can tell.

The wheel on your lap somewhat hurts your knees because of the clamp, and because it is not secure, when you take sharp turns, sometimes the wheel tends to go with you...right off your lap.

Logitech has evidently thought of the problem already with this Lap Attachement although mine is backorderd until sometime next week or later. It is absolutely essential that you buy this lap adapter, unless you plan to play GT4 from behind a desk, and I imagine most will not.

GT4 in 55'' 1080i HDTV, Surround Sound, + Logitech Driving force pro 2 = Car Simulator Heaven.

Hey Curt, I wanted as much info as I could find... and so like an idiot I went to Gamefaqs. Yeah, I know, why bother...but a lot of people there say there's some shaking at the start of races, and the framerate is poor, too? WTF are they talking about? I'm THIS close to going to get this, and I'm waiting for that last thing to push me over the edge. Can you fill me in on these game glitches?

I got 95% in GT3 (damn time trials) so I'm sure I'll like the game. I just want to know if the wheel is big boned friendly. Shifter smooth. Do the pedals feel cheap or stick? I would hate to smash the brake pedal in a corner.

You'd want to attach this to a table for the full effect ...

I've attached wheels to chairs,coffee tables,end tables,computer table,shoot even the kitchen table :p ..etc.

I don't own this wheel yet..I have 4 of the previous Force Feedback version.
Two of them came with some type lap attachment and it sucks trying to play this way..(Again:You'd want to attach this to a table for the full effect .)
The wheels too close it moves to much plus your moving around pressing the pedals.

The only thing I do play NOW by putting the controller on my lap is Steel Battalion.(because it's huge)

I got the Logitech Pro Force at Gamestop last night along with the game and SFAC. The wheel is absolutely impressive, I'd highly recommend it to anyone with the $ to blow (as in SPEND THAT CREDIT on it, Fats). It's a steal at the Fry's price, Butta.

I don't normally like car sims, but with the wheel, damn, GT4 is awesome. The feedback is the best I've ever seen in a peripheral, and the construction is top-notch.

I agree with Curt 100% on the lap attachment. The little clamps are a bitch on the knees/quads, unless you get it situated juuust riiiight. And then you take one tight turn and it goes flying and it's not so just right anymore and it hurts again.

Oh, and to Fats' concern over size, it is surprisingly accommodating, IMO. I have very large hands and long arms (yes, just like a damn monkey, thanks) and I was very comfortable with the wheel, reach-wise. And the base is low-profile enough that I think it should accomodate larger gentlemen quite well.

edit: to address other questions- shifter is VERY smooth, very well-made. Feels great. Also, the pedals are smooth, too, and feel sturdy enough that they will not break. Somewhere in the neighborhood of the Steel Battalion pedals, maybe. Smoother than those, with a little less resistance.

Haha, Monkey Man, Monkey Man :kekeke:

*looks at self*

Oh damn, I got that same problem too :emb:

In all serious, you guys are giving this wheel some really rave reviews. When the N-G.com community gives rave reviews, the product is most likely worth owning. All right, time to save those pennies :p

I've never really been much of a driving game fan, but I must admit that I am very tempted to pick up one of those wheels. It's so fucking sexxay that Mushiki himself even endorsed it.

I gotta fucking have it. :loco:

The Framerate seems really good to me, even on 1080i, Right now I'm playing the JP Version, but I'll probably pick up the US version as well...which sucks because I'll have to get all the licenses again. There is some shaking at the beginning of the race? I haven't noticed anything really that horrible that didn't seem like it should be there.. My copy did have some strange graphical glitches on 1 or 2 tracks... the camera would flip angles at strange moments....

The biggest issue I can find with the Wheel is comfort... I haven't tried the Lap attachment so I cant say if that method is good or not, but i'm thinking about dragging a desk and office chair in front of my TV for Full GT4 effect... Although I can't see doing that all the time.

One thing worth mentioning is the pedals.

When I first tried it out, I was pissed because they were sliding all over my carpet, but I looked under the underside, and there is a tab and this row of little plastic teeth, you push the tab and "SNIK" the teeth come out... (really cool somehow) and once the teeth are in and on the carpet you can step on that motherfucker for days...

the only thing I wish I had was a clutch pedal... that'd be tits.

I bought one at Fry's at lunch. :emb:

They had a sweet setup there, with the wheel attached to this racing chair you could buy, on a big screen tv. Too bad the chair was $300.

The Fry's salespeople refer to Butta as "The Walking Log." When they saw him coming they probably set up a lawn chair in front of the steering wheel and sprinkled some glitter on it.

Anyone tried using a convertor to use this on their X-Box or whatever? I'd prefer to only have the one steering wheel for all of my systems.
