I was thinking about trading up my dolphin blue cart (all included minus the MOBO) for Guilty Gear X ver1.5 in the same condition (would be great if we could trade MOBO boxes too)

edit:I'l throw in 20 dollars on top - this offer is until the end of the week.

lol, one of us needs to nut up and buy this thing mobo and all and sell the mobo :)

People needs to realise that, unfortunately, that's basically the only way to go right now if you want certain AW games, unless you are really lucky. The mobo is like a freebie from Sammy, games won't be significantly cheaper when released by them without the mobo.

that's not strictly true. games are anywhere between 150 and 250 dollars cheaper minus the mobo. its not saying much I know... it looks like the Japanese get theirs from Sammy minus the mobo if so wanted which makes you wonder why they're not doing this elsewhere.

Very true. I can't remember who it was, but a member was selling his ATW collection, and he had various kits listed w/out mobo as part of the collection, and he confirmed that he had purchased them in Japan w/out the mobo.

Better start doing that in the U.S. by the time Metal Slug 6 comes out and NGBC drops to a reasonable price!

that would be Division. he too was searching for the same game as me.

its a shame really because apart from knights of valour and demolish fist there's nothing else at reach (Isuka isn't really interesting and neowave is not worth the price difference either. loose rumble fish are not easy to come by. forget about sushi bar).

Ah, yes, that name sounds familiar now. I know what you mean about finding loose carts. I feel pretty lucky having one mobo with Dolphin Blue, Demolish Fist, Neowave, and KOV en route to me from icoNsx. I just saw a loose Isuka go for $395 (!!) I opened the bidding at $300, was a little surprised to see it go that high.

There's a loose Rumble Fish on eBay now if anyone's interested.

I guess so... but you see "quite a few" bare aw mobos on yahoo japan as well...

I was talking about "certain games", basically meaning the new (and the upcoming) ones, not the old ones like Demolish Fist or Dolphin Blue. NGBC will cost more than 1000$ with or without mobo, with less than 10% difference if it actually is sold without it. What I meant is that AW games are generally very expensive because they are recent arcade hardware, not because they are sold with the mobo. In some years they will be as cheap as MVS (or even naomi) carts are now.

I spoke to the sales guy at Sammy Europe at the ATEI show in Jan, & he said the mobo was a free & your only buying the software, even at around $800 a pop thats still quite cheap for a new arcade game, new Naomi 2 kits run into the thousands.

maybe this is officially so, but in practicle terms, the AW has its price as when they are sold loose they go for a bit. and when the carts are sold loose they go for less than they do when they are sold with with mother board. there's no 2 ways about it no matter what Sammy sais - once it goes second hand price alocation becomes a factor.

anyway still looking for something not being Rumble Fish or Knights of Valour.

It's out on PS2 this month so I think I'll wait for RF2, which looks fantastic.
