Hey guys & gals,

I just bought 2 MVS carts from Yanton on eBay (buy it now) and there seems to be a sound glitch with Bust-a-move aka puzzle bobble. I've read all good reports about Yanton, but I thought it might be a boot...

It occurs (even after trying different slot and cleaning the board) when you die and all the bubbles turn black.

I've attached a sound bite: (146k)

Sound glitch

The insides look legit (fake label), but I don't know:
Boot or not:

(that's not a solder blob, it's just a dark patch, maybe some solder flux around there too. I checked the board for shorts)

I also bought a magical drop, and it works fine.

Here's the eBAy link.

EBAY puzzle bobble

I'm guessing I can ask for a refund/replacement for such a bad glitch? ?

It's 100% original.

As for the alleged sound glitch I don't know (I have no speakers on this PC).

I'm going to try and sound like I know what I'm talking about.. :D :p

If it always occurs at the same spot same thing then I'd say it's a faulty programmed or bad EPROM.
I figure that first pick uncovered EPROM is the it..It looks to be the M1...(I'm pretty sure the M1 chip is the one that's programmed for sound)

Look for bad soldering under the M1 chip..bad trace..(?)

Otherwise if not(glitch in sound occurs at the same spot same thing)then I'd clean the crap out of the connectors with some light sand paper making for the cleanest connection possible..

From my knowledge here it's legit..And a pretty damn good deal for a legit cart..

Ask him to replace it with another..

This guy from ebay sells allot of game, I wanted to buy some but what always gets to me is in the first line

"It was in good working order.Although this board was tested and working "

not a really good marketing strategy, I mean COME ON at least make me want to buy it that just makes me run,

I dont know maybe Im paranoid, but he does have lots of games, maybe I should buy one

dont know.... ........ . .

naaa I ll just buy here!

Thanks for the info guys.

I'll give it (another) good clean and try again as well as inspect the tracks/soldering a bit more closely.

Yeah, his games are legit but very dirty. Heck, my Ultimate 11 wouldn't even start until I had a tough go with the eraser on the connectors.

He actually told me in an email that he had been selling one or two boots over the years, but that he doesn't anymore. He's a great guy and I'll keep on buying from him til he quits (or if I can find the games that I'm looking for cheeper some place else)
