My guess would be relabelled originals as I heard Yaton is a good seller... one of them looks to have the gold warning label on which most boots don't.

I've heard lots of good things about Yaton. I have never heard of him unloading boots.

Man, those look really sloppy. I rather have a MVS cart with no label than one of those.

Seconded.

Those labels are bellow the quality of what you can do even with MSpaint !

Like any Asian Opp,

Yao has a shitload of boots. He doesn't check them. If you get a boot, he will make it right.

The amount of Hard to get titles he has pushes me to think they are boots to...

Great seller overal though..

Added..

I keep looking through his feedback for a positive given by someone who bought something that he has multiple of as in the auctions below.
I don't see any negatives for boots.....But I know he works that out..And some people still may not know what a boots is..
What if he doesn't have the original for the boot, what then..?

Sending back and forth to Canada is timely..etc..

I'm just weary of auctions like these below..Could it be possible that they are real..

What comes to mind as soon as you see stuff like this..?

Plus others..

Thrash Rally is missing it's Link port holes..

I bought a cart like that before(not off him) and the case had been changed..
Then another I found like this, upon asking the seller..he said he didn't see the parts-ports on the pcbs upon opening..

I have bought High end or hard to get carts from him..
Drift Out & Neo Bomberman..both were real, but single auctions plus had Japanese original labels..

Yep, that's almost the exact same as my experience with him. I think my copy of Ninja Master's is the ugliest. I mean, it looks like it went through a tornado! But it plays perfectly well, which is why I continue to buy from him.

My guess is that he decided to try and pretty his carts up a little bit, but now he'll only get more doubt that his stuff is real.

I agree that a nasty, original label is better than those silly things.

boot or not, i never understood why people would relabel carts unless it was completely lacking the label or other form of id.

Its impossible to tell if these are bootlegs or not without opening the cart and inspecting the boards.

Just got one of the Viewpoint carts yesterday. Replacement label, legit cart.

In all, I have bought almost 20 carts from Yaton over the past year, all have been legit carts. The carts are usually pretty beaten up, but always work.

Sweet,Congrats..

Thank you timsnow1 :)

I guess seeing so many Boot : topics/getting boots/not finding the carts mentioned here much on Ebay/or in mass quantities etc... has caused me to be too weary and blinded. :(

$75 to have Twinklestar Sprites shipped would be a steal (no pun intended)...

A lot of the carts looks like they've been re-cased, so new labels would be a necessity. You raised a good point about Thrash Rally not having the link holes which could be explained by having the boards re-cased. If you're importing boards, it would be a whole lot cheaper if all you needed was PCBs and did all of the casing yourself. Dunno if that's the case here, but you never know.

I might order a game or two and see what happens. If I do I can definitely post pics of the boards if people are interested!

It took a couple of days but I received a reply from him. Everything sounded good, he said that all of his merchandice is guaranteed 100% original with no boots (like anyone would admit they sell boots though...) so it might be time to do an order!

As long as the games are legit and playable, you can always keep them locked away in a shockbox so no one knows how scuffed up they are! :oh_no:

I have bought about five games from Yaton. They are all real cartridges, but there were some messed up labels.

Games I've bought from him:

Samurai Shodown II (Jap)
King of Fighters '94 (Jap)
King of Fighters '95 (Jap)
King of Fighters '96 (Jap)
Metal Slug (Eng)

Hope this info helps,
