Alright you complaining pain-in-the-asses, I listened to the suggestions on the making of consolized 2-slots and implemented them all on the one I just finished for someone. So no, this is not a selling thread so shut up.

Similar specs as the Green Envy system:
- NeoBitz video encoder
- 3 video options for output
- All RCA mounts are the same type (even though I still like the other way)
- game switch moved to back
- wires more properly concealed
- solder points best you never seen. You have to look inside directly so see them now (no concealing them with hot glue either ;) )
- acrylic base with antistatic foam between the board and base
- Unibios 2.0
- high gloss enamel paint job = major pain in the ass

I call it a nice pansy ass name: "In the Navy"

Nice work Dean, I really like the looks of it.

If I wanted the same thing in the future what would this unit run me? Send me a PM if you can.

thanks for the compliments guys. I really like the look onf the gloss dark blue paint, but holy shit is that a pain in the ass to work with. High gloss really shows all the details of the cover, so you really need to be careful with prep work and coating. I'm considering having a body shop do the next paint job just so I don't have to get ten more gray hairs painting it.

Ok I've got a question.

- wires more properly concealed

How did you do this? I was going to completely encase my 2 slot board so I could hide the wires and all the connections in a big box, but now I'm starting to think that may not be the best idea (I also worry about overheating). So where did you put the video board, wiring harness, stereo wire (I assume you plugged it into the headphone jack on the side), power wires, and all the other bits? I couldn't find a way to do it!

The RGB lines were connected to the resistors directly and the sync line was connected to the correct resistor which is just left of the resistor bank. +5V was connected to the back end of the +5V pin area where I removed a small bit of the solder mask to solder to. +12V was solder to a terminal that you can trace back from the pin itself. For the sound, I wired to the underside of the board at the headphone jack, running the cable up through one of the joystick port screwholes that are unused. Ground was straightforward.

The video board is mounted just behind the resistor bank with 4 points of hot glue contact, but in areas where you can't do any damage by removing it later.

I'll take pics next time of the inside.

This 2-Slot looks really great man!

D-lite if you find a good shop in the S.F. area, that will do the custom paint for you let me know.

I want to get a High Gloss, auto like paint job, on one of my AES Shells... let me know man...

I was thinking of shipping out to one of those, custome console interweb places, that do Gamecubes, xbox's, and PS2's...lost the website though...

Ahh so you wired everything directly to the board! That makes sense. If you could take pictures for me next time you open it up, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not an expert on soldering, but I think with a picture or two I could do this.

It's a pretty scratched up shell, and I want to have someone re-do the Max 330 Mega Stuff (it's worn off)... it's already modded, so it's hardly mint.

Other members here have painted their shells/sticks... I don't see what the big deal is.

I want it to Match my WEGA. :kekeke:

penetrating the back of my system is really how i'd want to turn it on.

nice try, but that's it. fun to see that you still didn't manage to make something that's really worth it. what you did is still as simple as possible. you know, if i wanted to do something just to make others eat their shorts, then i'd at least try a bit harder. :)

the paint will still chip after only a few weeks, because making it look shiny won't make it last longer. btw, even the smaller pics show imperefctions in the paint. nice.
the power button still looks hideous. why? because you're too lazy to take a file and make it right, but instead insist on using a dremel, which is why you need to hide it in the back and continue using the bigger and more ugly red buttons. (remember : the dremel's cutting tools are DISCs, which aren't a good choice if you need to cut a 13mm x 19mm square hole.)
the baseplate is still too big and way to fragile. there are also still heads of the screws sticking out of the bottom.
the red button is not just fuckin ugly, it's also not needed.

go on and show the world how you soldered the wires to that s-video 'socket'. show us the ultimate sign of you lazyness/ignorance. :)

your's might be worth a bit more than norton's or a bit nicer than kenny's, but they're still not what you'd want them to be.
this not being a selling thread? just look at your sig. every single of your postings is supposed to support your sales. rofl.

edit :

eh ... and you didn't even use washers, when you mounted the cover.

I think it looks very nice! I am thinking of going with you Dean as a seller for these more and more. You are not afraid to take chances and that is why I will go with you for the sale.

Here we go again.
Some things to chew on slappy.

- This thread is months old.
- Power button looks hideous?? Just the one I picked. I think it looks fine
- listen you stupid fuck, I use a file all the goddamn time. I only use a Dremel tool when rough cutting plastic. That's it.
- the power switch is on the back because I wanted the front plain with no buttons. The red button is game switch for the 2-slot. I have since moved to slicker buttons for most applications. And since I haven't built another of these in several months, you're looking at old stuff. I've seen some of your older stuff too Falk, and don't tell me you were always perfect with all of your stuff.
- this thread was made to show the 2-slot I made to order. In fact, I have only made 3 2-slots, 2 of which were requested. And I really don't care to make them at all, hence why I send all the people that ask over to norton.
- fragile baseplate???? That's 1/4" acrylic! I'd love to see someone break it. And I make it about 3/8" bigger all around so it adds some protection.

Falk, I'm bored with your stupid, childish comments. People seem to like the stuff I make and that's why I do it. You think I'm in it for the money whereas it's really a hobby that I enjoy. Still haven't sold the supergun I made with a screen on it, nor do I plan to. You see, some of us make this stuff to play around and see what types of designs look good, to try new things, etc. I'd like to ask what you have contributed to all of this. Yes, you make nice looking stuff. But you are not exactly blazing trails either. Yeah, you did the consolized Atomiswave, which was nice. You think I don't contribute anything nor do I have any creative input in the community, but I'd like to think I have done some decent/nice work and have contributed where I can. Do you see a lot of people offering S-Video on Turbo systems? How many people build their own video encoders? How about working with Jeff Kurtz on solving the issues with using the NeoBitz encoder on just more than Neo? And getting the Sony PSOne LCD to work with Neo?

You know, you like to talk completely out of your ass when you have no idea what you're talking about. You make assumptions on how people do their work and you just have to think someone else has already done this stuff first.

I don't know what turned you into such an asshole, but you should just make your comments and be done with it. Robert Wallace always used to bitch about you and now I can see why. I guess with him not being around anymore or at least frequently, you need someone to give shit to.

Seems you like to make money too.

EDIT: and I like that you managed to slam norton and Kenny too. And since we already know what you think about Robert Wallace, that just leaves you and Todd as the only ones left standing? Nothing to say about his work?
