If you have a scart TV, you don't need a super gun - you can just wire up the jamma loom (I managed this and I'm no good at soldering) using a jamma pin-out diagram.

It's really simple.

Hi
Any chance you can tell me how you set that up ?
Do you just wire it straight up to a scart plug instead of a socket ?
Cheers :buttrock:

Ok,
I don't have time for a full guide, but use:

http://www.gamesx.com/arcade/cheapjamma.htm (bear in mind this is JAMMA - neo is slightly different. Neo pinout guides etc are at http://www.hardmvs.com/html/Downloads.htm)

You wire R,G,B and Sync to the appropriate pins on a SCART cable. You also need the +3V pin to make the TV recognise an RGB signal. I wired up a multi voltage adapter to do this. you can wire in two AA batteries - but they will need replacing fairly regularly.

Then you need a PC PSU for power.
Two speaker cables.
Cables for the controller - you can wire them to a 15 pin PC controller port (Maplins!) and use a regular Neo controller.

And there you go - a "supergun" for cheap.

Enjoy!

5v at pin 16 is OK but 5v at pin 8 enables 16:9 mode on widescreen TVs which is the incorrect aspect ratio for games...and if the TV is not widescreen then it's totally superfluous...

Just go and read an internet article on SCART.

it took me about ten minutes to find out how to do it.
