Mods: I know this should really be in feedback but I’d appreciate it if this could stay here a while as a lot of people are dealing with this guy and I could do with some opinions on what to do and some advice on the fault as well.
Right, I’ve given you plenty of warning Division but you continue to ignore my pms and email so you leave me no choice.
I recently bought (well part-traded) Division's Japanese Metal Slug 1 home cart. Division shipped promptly and comms were good. I had a bit of an issue with him describing the cart as
”excellent and not near mint because it has faint insertion marks, not bad at all….There are no large cart scratches, just a few very minor ones typical of a NM cart.”
But we resolved this with a few pms.
However, when I come to try out the cart, it has sound glitches. These start with the 5 "cymbal" notes on the how to play screen being replaced with long flat notes that shouldn't be there. Then, from the second level onwards, other parts of the music are scrambled with a bizarre hiccupping type sound. This is a very weird fault indeed, but I have heard the exact same thing before, on a conversion. Tarma can verify this as he sold me it, and he can also verify he didn't notice it when briefly testing it, but they were there and they were serious. I have cleaned contacts but, as before, it won't go away.
Tarma sorted things out amicably as he is a fine seller. Division has not. He has completely ignored pms and email since I told him about this. I've been reasonable as I know first hand it's a fault that can be missed, but it's there and I don't want the cart because of it. Discussing negligible scratches is one thing, but this is serious.
The fault also raises the (already discussed) issue of "is this a conversion". People questioned Divisions MS1 before due to the board colours. Personally that didn't worry me as I'd seen board pics and others, and I thought I'd be able to tell by touch. Division also gave me his word we could reverse the deal if it proved to be a boot.
These sound issues make me more suspicious as I've seen the same thing before on a conversion but then again, there's the possibility it’s a fault conversions can inherit from originals. To be honest, that's no longer the issue. Even if this is legit, it's faulty and no good to me.
I've even offered to send the cart to Ryan from JGN as a reputable third party to confirm the sound fault and compare the game to his originals to see if it's a conversion but Division still ignores me. He's been on the forum daily with no contact.
Division - If you don't want to reply to me, at least reply here to defend your name. You've had good feedback so far but you leave me no choice. I am not going to shut up and be left with a duff cart here. I've tried to settle this sensibly but be warned, people round here don't like to be screwed around with costly deals like this and I will get my money back one way or another.
If anyone has any advice or experiences with similar faults with MS1 please share.

or Lastblade... etc etc... (Too many to mention)... It really wouldn't have been that much of an issue
