Windjammers - Need some tips

I just got a US Windjammers home cart and it's a lot of fun, but I'm not sure if I understand everything about it. The manual is a little less than helpful. I mean... I understand enough to do decently but I think there are some things I am missing. For example, when I use a super move, it's always the same move. However, I've seen the computer do some weird different moves other than the main one. Does anyone know how to do the different moves? Also I can't really get a curved shot to work right. Basically, if anyone knows this game well, I'd like to know all the small details.

Hmm... I can now do the "different" move I was talking about by spinning the control pad before I throw the super shot. Still, any tips would be appreciated.

Gee, I love that game. IMO one of the best non-fighters on Neo.

The angle of "curved" shots is determined in which direction you do the stick spinning.

For ex., if the disc is approaching and you grab it immediately without sliding before, you could do a d,db,b,ub,u for a back spin or b,db,d,df,f for a top spin. However, if you slide in the falling disc, you have less time to reflect it with the same speed as it came in, the longer you wait, the slower it will come out. Btw., the spin works with most half-circle movements too.

You can also give flat specials a spin (with the same scheme.

Prolly the best feature in the game is the immediate reflection of a disc. If you do a f+throw in the very same moment the disc arrives, it will be sent back with some added speed, which is perfect for tricking out slower opponents; just lurk him in the upper corner, wait for a straight return from him, and do a immediate reflect with df+throw into the lower right corner. Don't just push a button if you're about to catch the disc, as this would send it in the air for a special. It's essential to time this so that you do the df+throw just a fraction of a second before the disc actually is in your hands. If the disc gets a white-ish trail afterwards, the reflect was successful.

Ah yes, and try it with "stopped lobs"... wait for the disc to arrive, slide into it and grab it, and do a b+high throw. This way, you loose a little bit of power, but the disc will go higher into the air.

Try this "combo": Move way back to your own side, try to reflect an incoming disc, immediately afterwards slide to the net, grab and hold the returning disc with a short tap on the throw button (without a stick movement!), then hammer on the high throw button and do either a b,db,d,df,f or a b,ub,u,uf,f spin as soon as the disc comes down... WHAM! :)

Thanks so much! That's exactly the kind of things I wanted to know.
