Metal Slug or Shock Troopers

Hey,

Which of the series is better, Metal Slug or Shock Troopers?? I need a feedback on this... Personally I haven't played Shock Troopers yet, but im working on it. Which game would you prefer, I'm thinking either Metal Slug 1 or Shock Troopers 2? I know that I can't go wrong with Metal Slug, but if Shock Troopers 2 is better then I reconsidder <IMG SRC="smilies/tickled.gif" border="0">

As a series, I prefer the Metal Slug games. Shock 1 is great too, but the 2nd is plagued with slowdown (as is MS2).

As a series, Metal Slug has no rival. However, Shock 1 is an awesome game. Too bad it was never released as a home cart but Shock 2 (an inferior game) was. <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0">

I'll probably get some heat for saying this, but personally I think the Metal Slug series is so overrated. They're good games, sure. Well, Metal Slug 1 and 2/X are... Metal Slug 3 is just too hard and too boring.

Shock Troopers 1 is my favorite Neo-Geo game of all time. It's incredibly replayable and the difficulty curve is juuuust right, allowing a player who spends a little bit of time learning the engine and enemy patterns to be able to finish the game on one credit easily. And if you're one of the few players left who actually care about getting high scores, then Shock Troopers is also better in this aspect... I've probably finished the game about 150 times and I'm still looking for ways to maximize my score further. On Metal Slug, once you find all the secrets the only way to get higher scores is to pump up the difficulty, making for more drawn-out, boring boss battles.

Shock Troopers 2nd Squad is a good game, but it really doesn't compare to the first one. I'd still rather play it over any Metal Slug though.

Shook troopers is a killer game. I truly enjoyed playing it. Which ever series is better really depends on what style of shoot-em-up you like best. Shook Troopers is more like Mercs from Capcom, while Metal Slug is like Contra. I enjoy both series very much. However, I have played the Metal Slug series a lot more then the Shook Trooper series. Which means I can't really say which one is the best until I have actually got my hands on a copy of Shook Troopers and play it to death to really compare the two.

we needed that game BAD

a shame snk released part 2....

slug is good...
slug is great....

for the art....the animations....the details...


but shock troopers,its better
