It has been brought to my attension that there is an undumped version of Blues Journey (AES) in the wild.

Can anyone with an AES version of the Game and a unibios please run your cart through the unibios game cart check and post the results in this thread if you see 'NG' reported.

Thanks :)

There is NeoTurfMasta who is very trusted but I have no idea how busy he is at the moment with their book release.

someone with pc-2-neo and an AES could also dump the P1 without the need to remove the ROM from the PCB. It would actually be nice to get a picture of the PCBs though if you can open it.

PM Jeff Kurtz, he might be able to help.

He is the one I sent my SSVS too to have the V roms dumped.

Yes I'll update the unibios but it really needs to be dumped :)

Jeff lives very close to me now.
And I'll check my Blue's Journey carts tonight and see if I have it here as well.
(would make it easier & faster to do this anyhow)

EDIT:
OK. I've got it as well.
So both revisions use all the same identical mask roms with the only exception of the P Rom. They are all November 1990. The P Rom on the other revision is July 1991. It's "HP1".

EDIT:
I can confirm that the 9048 revision (November 1990) has unlimited continues. The 9131 revision (July 1991) has a limitation of only 3 continues.
Introduction appears to be identical on both.

Just to confirm then the HP1 ROM is the version that fails the Unibios check currently? Are you able to contact Jeff directly?

On a side note if you have it supergun, I know there is also a World Heroes that fails the gamecart check. Can you see if you have that also?

Yes, the HP1 Rom, which was on the 2nd run home carts, and implemented the limit of only 3 continues, is the one that fails the unibios checksum.

Yes, Jeff & I have met in person several times, and can connect with email & cell phone.

Yes, I have several World Heroes carts as well that I can test as well later tonight.
WH1 had a second run on MVS to remove a glitch with the German character "Brocken". (unblockable kick that would drain an opponents energy)

I can always check/test anything you need. I have complete home & MVS sets, as well as hundreds of extra carts. So usually I have multiples of most games.

I guess another one to check would be to see if you have the Power Spikes II cart that shows Super Volley 94 in Japanese region (or fails the unibios check also). I have a feeling you might have checked for this already?

Others that come to mind off the top of my head are Puzzle Bobble and Pulstar.

I checked 7 WH1 carts.
6 of them passed with: C56A55ED
1 of them passed with: 7DC1D4F5
none of them failed with: NG
So I don't have that cart.

I playtested both revisions (briefly) and was able to confirm that the lesser common D45F cart has the Brocken glitch, and the 55ED had it fixed/removed.

Good to hear Raz, glad I raised it with you now as it's led to that P ROM being dumped and confirmed, I'd also like to see more undumped versions of games come forward and see if there are any differences :)
