kof'99 suffers from horrendous load times.

Yes, look for it some where near the end of Jan 2003. Playmore hired me to develop it, and I can say it is progressing nicely. Of course, load times are long and I had to remove some frames of animation from the characters. I have access to the arranged soundtrack from the dreamcast version. So that will be a nice addition. When finished, Eidos will be overseeing the release here in the states. You will be able to pre-order it from your local EBX. There will be a limited number of copies that come with a gold plated CD label. Very nice collectors edition.

In case you ppl want to know:

- Production of Neo CD games stopped shortly before x-mas 1999, with LB2 (2/27) and KoF99 (12/2) as the famous last words... Reason was the meg count of the new games, not load times or anything.

The Neo CD, unlike the home cart system with only 64 Kbyte, has 56 MBit or 7 MB of work RAM. This, together with a 512 Kbyte video RAM bank, is where the Neo CD loads the game data into, while the home cart system doesn't need to load anything because it directly addresses the ROMs on the cart pcb.

Ack, i would never want to play KOF2000 on teh NGCD system, the fucking load time would make anyone kill themselves, If you are going to get the KOF 2000 game, get the AES cart, it will be worth it in the long run

I like the lil' comments that were pasted along with the time estimates...wonder why they stopped???
One of my comments would be:
I fell asleep one night while waiting for this to load, system stayed on overnight.
RBFF loads faster than RBS too,RB2 loads quicker than both of them..also those load times are not accurate to every 1X system. A guy that ran the SNK DOJO did the timing thingy and we both came up with different timed loads..
I guess those times are good enough to give a general idea but there's no way RBS loads quicker than RBFF. RBS,KOF 97 and LB load times drove me insane..
