Got Sprite Rips?

<img src="graemlins/help.gif" border="0" alt="[Help]" /> I was wondering if anyone knows a place on the net where I can get some nice animated Samurai Shodown sprite rips, the ones that people put for their signature down at the bottom of their messages, also if anyone knows how to rip sprites off emulators, please tell me.

I can rip you any animation sequence you like (move, standing animation, etc) from any Shodown game. Just reply here or give me a PM and I can whip you up a quick animated sig. Generally, if I make one for someone I use the same pallette (cause it looks cool):

I'm guessing you like Hanzo, so you just tell me what animation you want and any specific quotes you prefer (otherwise I'll just slap a winning quote up there or do like I did above and make some sort of cool parody). If you don't want one, just keep searching on the net. I used to have a Samurai Shodown art/sprite site but no more. <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

i liked that jubei rips you did hehhhehh very very nice indeed.

could you do a request? could you whip one for me? i was hoping for the same scheme you did with the jubei one, but instead a rugal'98 background with text "Feel my cut?", then a rugal'98 animated sprites doing the genocide cutter SDM sequence then going into the rugal win pose where he shows off his biceps. please?

Hey I figured out how to rip sprites! At the moment I have some sweet Hanzo ones. What are good image hosting sites? I have a website at geocities but last time I tried linking an image on the site it gave the viewer an error.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me the process of "hosting" a picture? it tried with my aol account, and for some reason it just isn't working. don't make me lose that beautiful Basara rip. I'm sure this sounds decidedly n00bie, but I'm an old man, and new to the Neo forum...begging for assistance.

Alright, to host a pic you will need to search for some free webspace. Just do a search on Google or something like that and decide on a good host. There are several places out there that specialize in hosting pics, that's all they do. Sign up, the upload the pics you want from your hard drive (read the instructions at that site if you don't know how to do that) then simply link to them from this board via the tags. Either way you won't lose these sprites so long as you save them (which you have to do to host them anyway).

As for ripping, you will need an able emulator like NeoRage and the ROMS to the games you wish to rip from. Use the emulator's features to take frame by frame screenshots across the entire animation sequence (this can take awhile). Then you use image-modifying software to clean up each and every screenshot (can be up to 100 screens and beyond for some animations) then use animation siftware to animate the sprites. Smaller rips like stances and win poses take about 20 minutes total to complete, large rips like my sig, SDMs and combos with a TON of frames can take upwards of two hours to complete. My sig took longer than that, but I hacked the final version to hell and back to cut down on its size.
