Im turning this komani (was messed up by another person) cabinet into a MVS 1 slot, (its may not sound like a big project, but im 17 so, heh) Here are some pictures of the cabinet, I will show you aftermath pictures when I am done, please give me feedback =): http://www.freepicturehosting.com/g/98575_1.jpg

Thanks for taking a look

Alex

Oh BTW, that new piece of wood on the control area is for the new control panel, the other one was a 4 player white one which looked very crappy.

Nice to see a fellow 17 yr old (yeah I'm only 17)doing something constructive. Good luck with your cabinet, maybe I should buy some old arcade and do that.

Thanks , go to a arcade auction if you have around $50-100 bucks to spare, they sell for quite cheap

I'm interested in the cost of the cabinet when you bought it and the price for any materials needed for the project.

I'm 15, so any project more complicated than setting my alarm clock seems like a big deal.

Its cool knowing more people want to do this =)...basicly go to a arcade auction (www.superauctions.com) and buy a cabinet, they usually run from $25-$150 (19-25 inch) Buy a o.k looking one, take it home. (Make sure you have a delivery plan set up or you will have to pay a person to drive it for you) Anyway take it home, look inside, check whats inside. Clean the whole thing, its probably VERY DIRTY and dusty, also you can find a few quarters in there heh) (oh btw, make sure the game your buying is jamma, its a little bit of a hassle to convert it to jamma if it isnt already) Replace the control panel (they usually look ugly and dont have the right buttons in the right places (the wood costs like $10, sand it, paint it a color you want), unless you can buy a mvs cabinet heh) Paint the sides, because they will look crappy, buy a mvs pcb ($80-100), some extra buttons and joysticks ($20-$50), because usually the ones in there are crappy looking and are the old kind of joysticks (The ones that use those metal pieces on each side to move, can someone tell me what these are called?) Then buy some games ($7-400) Buy a marquee (if you want, $10-$20) depends on the ones you get) Buy a new jamma harness, because the one that is already in there is probably hacked or something ($10-$20) Hook it all up to the pcb and the buttons and joysticks. Plug it in and you are all ready to go. (Of btw this is not all in a peticular order) heh. Hope this helps, I'd say it is much harder than setting up a lightbulb But its worth it when you look at the finished product, and if I left out anything, please someone tell me
