Yesterday a friend received his Blazing Star AES from Japan (one day I will have one... <IMG SRC="smilies/drool.gif" border="0"> ) and we played all the afternoon.
Well, the game is simply awesome, but I can believe it's FUCKING FUCKING DIFFICULTY!!! <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">
Does anybody finished it even in the NORMAL level without a modded Neo Geo? I think I would need 20 continues for finishing it.
Is it the most difficult game in the Neo? What do you think?

It a little difficult because you don't have bombs. I wish they would of added bombs to the game <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Have you tried Pulstar yet? That game is about 10 times harder then Blazing star....

Well, I haven't played Pulstar... Is it really so difficult? I've been playing to Blazing Star today again, and the first three levels have a nice difficulty, but after this point I can't believe the amount of enemy fire that fill the screen!
Maybe Blazing Star is too much for me...

I can get to the Stage 6 boss on Blazing Star on one credit most of the time, but once I'm there I get blown away. I don't see any safe spots for avoiding all those bullets, and the only way of surviving that mess would be to use the DINO246.

It's tough to compare Blazing Star and Pulstar in terms of difficulty, since Pulstar pushes you back in the level when you die. Yes it's very hard, but it also means that every section CAN be passed if you know what to do. On Blazing Star they just ramp up the difficulty and cause lives to get killed over and over on the last two bosses.

Oh well, it's fun up to that point.

Blazing Star has the typical
'SNK Last Boss Syndrome'.

I can beat it on EMU and on a MVS supergun:

The last boss is pretty much impossible, ther is one attack that you can not survive w/o dying, we (some friends of mine) have tried repeatedly (albiet somewhat drunk at the time). BTW that last boss needs a diper change <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> ...

Trust Me On This I Played Blazing Star and I Beaten It with 4 Cridets. No try Last resort.

Keep in mind that these shooter were arcade games at one time....can you say "quartermunchers"??

Pulsta and Blazing Star realy come from two schools of thought: Memorization shooter (Pulstar), and Twitch shooters (Blazing Star). I tend to enjoy twitch style the most, simply because you can play differently each time. Memorization style requires you to do the same thing (or close) everytime, which is why it is very possible to beat Pulstar on one credit every time.

I have an AES Blazing Star, and the game has unlimied continues. I'm not one to "cheat" and beat a game like that, though. I try to limit myself to a reasonable amount (like SNK's standard 4 Credits).

Blazing Star is way to hard for this, though because of the last two bosses. I don't beleive my Neo has been modded...Are there some people out there who's BS only gives you
4 Credits...?

Well, I've been playing a little more of Balzing Star last weekend and now I can get to the stage 6 with 2 credits, but after this point I need another 10 credits for finishing the game! The stage 6 is a fucking nightmare, and the final two bosses are too hard... <IMG SRC="smilies/crying.gif" border="0">

Viewpoint is harder in my opinion.

I agree with BRANDI that the 4th boss in Viewpoint is a total bastard. <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> Unless I play on MVS with the "2 Player Simultaneous" soft dip setting, I can't kill it.

In Blazing Star, I only lost 2 lives to the last boss last time. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> Not bad, eh? That's FAR FEWER lives than the 4th boss of Viewpoint usually ganks from me in one game.
