NGCD Frontloader - problem

Just got hold of one a few days ago, boxed and obviously in mint condition only that I had to find out that the cd-drive doesn't spin. Any chance to fix that on my own because I really don't want to give it back? Help!

Hm...

It's hard to tell what may be the reason for it. The drive could be de-calibrated, there could be a cold spot on one of the pcbs, the power supply may be damaged, etc., etc.

Does the power supply get warm?

I had one with almost the exact same problem, and was able to fix it. Need to know a few more things though..

1. When you put in a disk, do you hear a whirring for about 3 seconds?

2. Did the drive door open smoothly the first time you opened it?

I have a feeling you laser assembly has been knocked out of alignment, which is a very easy thing to fix...
