Hi from Spain,

I'm thinking about ordering some MVS games from mdgamesales, they have some quite good prices now. However somebody told me sometines they send you bootlegs instead of the original thing. I already ordered 3 games from them, and as far as I know they were original.

So has anybody experienced that kind of trouble?

I'm thinking about getting that Zupapa kit for 50$, they have a ton of them and the price is dropping like a rock, I guess they are all original.

Thanks for your help.

The owner of MDgamesales Mike is a very honest seller, if you ask him straight up if any of his carts are boots he will tell you.

I have dealt with him on ebay and through personal sales and have never had a problem, a trustworthy guy.

I have also recently bought mvs kits from Mike and they are originals. If you ask him he will be honest about them being boots or originals. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

Mike only sells boots when there is not an original alternative available. And when he does sell the bootlegs, he is up front with what they are... you won't get one by mistake or without you knowing it.

I'm with everybody else.

All the carts I've got from him have been original, and have been delivered very quickly.

I've bought from MdGames about 10 times now, and I've always recieved an original. I got one cart that I wasn't sure about, so I took it apart. It was original, and Mike had already offered a full refund anyway.

It was a Thrash Rally without the 2-player plugs in it. I looked around and it turns out that lots of them didn't have the plugs. I kept it, but it was really nice to know that he was willing to try to make me happy, even though it was my fault for not knowing enough to ask if it had them ahead of time.

In my experience if you get something, and decide it's not what you thought it was, he'll refund your money no questions asked.

MD game sales are very reliable, the only thing i'd suggest is that you specify you want the original mvs box to be packed inside another box to protect it as much as possible. He once sent me a metal slug 3 inside an enveloppe. The box wasn't damaged at all, but it could have been...

They never sent my kits this way when i specified them to be put inside another box :)

I bought a "real" copy of Waku Waku 7 from him, after I had paid him he told me that it was a boot. I, being disgusted with a Metal Slug boot, asked him if there were ANY glitches because of it. Some boots have problems with sound, some do NOT. He said he tested it and there were no problems at all.

Fine, so I got it... guess what! Scratchy sound, and I was pissed.

Yeah, he offered to replace it, but after paying and then him saying there was no problem, I wasn't too happy.

I currently am going to send soon for a cart from these guys. These guys are ace. Basically, with boots it will be a two way street. I dont reccomend anyone sell them under any circumstance, but I would rather be told straight up.

Thanks for the replies.

Well, I have just bought 4 loose carts, finally I didn't order any complete kit.

Yeah, I'm sure they will replace any boot, but what happens is that I'm in Spain so this type of things are always more complicated. I hope those 4 games are originals, in my mail I insisted in that. As I said I already ordered 3 games from them some months ago and was quite satisfied.

I'll post here when I receive the games.

I've never had a problem with them. Maybe the sound problem was not prevalent on his system. What would he have to gain from lying to you, when it was obvious that you would find the problem if he did also?

Maybe he was just too lazy to really check. You don't know why it happened, just that it did.

Anyway, I can recommend them as well, they replaced one of my carts I got from them one time. It wasn't working in my system. Turns out it wasn't the cart's fault, but they were nice enough to send me a different one anyway.

I too have and do order from MD on a regular basis, Mike is very honest when it comes to these things and great to deal with.

My Thrash Rally MVS does not have the link jacks either.

I know the exist but I havent seen one for sale yet.

First time I bought there I got a shiny, transparent US Garou MOTW. The cart played flawlessly, boy was I happy. Now, when I ordered carts for the second time I got a Korean KOF 98, white case and all. Problem with this cart is, many characters remain mute during the pre-/mid-/post fight taunts.

Yet I don't believe the cart to be broken, because most voice samples for special moves are not missing but changed to basic grunts; and it's a sad experience to hear a generic "Ugh" when there should be "Shinguu Kiiick". Mr. Gamesales told me it's nevertheless an official release, it's just the Korean version which may have other sounds. Peeping through the slits I could make out Toshiba chips, the same as on official carts.
He also said all his other KOF 98 carts he stocks behave in the same way, there's no use in exchanging it.
What to make from all this? I think TECHNICALLY it's an official cart, but still I consider it messed up.

Fast Forward to present day: I sent the cart back to him yesterday and asked him to exchange it for Last Blade 2. Initially he told me to sell the cart on Ebay if I don't want it that way, but I don't want to sell what I consider flawed. My additional expenses: paying for shipping KOF back to the US and LB2 to Europe. Right now I'm waiting for LB2 from MD Gamesales and a KOF 98 I ordered (for a higher price, but hopefully flawless) from a European seller.
Just my 2 cents, make sure to state that you want your MVS cartridge to be an official*identical-to-the-AES-version*Jap/US/Euro one. That's the lesson I learned.

BTW Hi everyone, I'm new to this board but you may find me posting here and there. CU

Not too long ago I came across a bootleg Puzzle Bobble. I can't remember where I got it though.

I took it apart and examined last weekend, then threw it in the trash.

Pardon me all to hell, but the fact is, he didn't test it out, or he's deaf. Take your pick. It WAS there, and it is there in bootlegs. Maybe I'm anal enough to hear it, but you don't have to be anal to hear "SCREECH".

EDIT: No matter, he allowed me to send it back. Just pisses me off that I had to jump through hoops for something that he told me was fine.

I wonder about the carts I got from MD sometimes.
He put all new labels on the MVS carts. But when I got my SS4 mvs I asked him to leave the orig label and he did.
Hes Cool in my book.
