Guilty Gear
The SF Alpha Collection on PS2
SF EX+Alpha

I'm drawing a blank for other titles, I know it.

I can't argue there are many must haves for the Playstation.

If we are focusing on ports and avoiding MAME/PCB, all of the Capcom and SNK titles received better ports to the Saturn (EDIT: Super Turbo on Saturn SF Collection is terrible. I can't remember if the psx version is better).

Off the top of my head, some interesting titles worth playing, whether they be port or not :

Gouketuji Ichizoku 2
TokiDensho :Angel Eyes
Advanced VG2
Asuka 120% Burning Fest Excellent (can't vouch for Asuka final, or limited, both could be better than Excellent)

The PS2 obviously has a more accurate and expansive fighting game library. It's not really a library that's difficult to navigate, but if I'm going to exclude all localized Capcom, Neo Geo and Atomiswave ports then..

Spectral Vs. Generation
Rumble Fish
Hokuto No Ken
Melty Blood : Actress Again
Sengoku Basara X
Arcana Heart 2

This is all off of the top of my head. Also, PSX Toshinden 2 Plus rules.

PSX:

Dominated Mind has cool super cancels called final impact iirc.

Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi was pretty cheesy. Worth playing just to hear the announcer say Thok and Hoar's names.

Evil Zone has a truly unique control scheme with sweet anime action.

Thrill Kill which was cancelled but later released. Their is an iso floating around. Violence for the sake of violence. Midgets, maids, conjoined twins, and contortionists. 4 players.

Street Fighter the movie. Not as good as the arcade version or any other version of street fighter, but it had interesting ex moves and digitized JCVD.

Gundam Battle Assault games. These are probably only fun if you're a gundam fan.

Tobal No. 2

I second, third and forth Tobal 2.

What a fucking game!

Also, you really need KOF 98UM, KOF02UM & KOFXI. Get all 3 of these and you won't need any other KOF, ever again!

Well... except maybe '95. I can't live without that game in my life...

do you mean this in a good way like Karnovs Revenge?

If you're under the impression that povertyfest is derisive (never heard the term myself) why jump right to Karnovs ( fantastic game)?

Angel Eyes has really weird air dashing physics. I suppose it's rather unique for 1996. I highly doubt it's a balanced game (is balance a pre-requist for "must haves"? Perhaps, but whatever.)

I agree karnovs is a great fkn game, Adam always makes a comment about it being a poverty fighter in a positive way.

lol fair point. TBH I guess it's in between good poverty and bad poverty. It's more just "interesting" I'd say. Also half the roster is traditional 2D and half is prerendered CG. I think when my friend and I looked up info on Wikipedia it was due to rushed development or something like that.

Art work is totally redone. Sprites on 360 were HD remade. The story mode and survival mode were flipped around for the 360 version (meaning arcade mode WAS the survival mode) since most people didn't like survival being the main mode.
