I've had Last Blade and Mark of the Wolves in my Candy for so long now. Then, the other day, I received a SSII Kit and had my eyes reopened. I had forgotten how great this game is... truely the crown jewel of SNK's accomplishments. And the fact that it is an older game blows me away. Now I wish they would do a SSII Redux or something - the same game but updated with Garou-like animations and graphics.

SSIII and IV came in the mail today for me, and in preparation, I was playing SSII during the last week. A great game and true classic of classics.

Something about it.. I can't put a finger on it..

the nostaliga..
the feel..
All the secrets..

Just make it the perfect fighter.

When your opponent swings at you and you block and hear the "ka-ching!", it just puts you right in the middle of the action. You feel like you actually blocked a sword swipe.

Wow.

Yes, that game is a work of art. However, whoever said that they are preparing for SS 3 & 4 by playing 2... Well, do know that 3 & 4 are radically different. ;) IMO, the 3-slash/1-kick set-up of SS 3&4 works better though... Even though SS2 is the better game. Go figure!!

Yeah SSII is still my favorite fighting game to play out of all the others. It's also one of the best SNK Neo games that has ever been created.

My only hope is that they're be more SS games in the near future.

Well , get ready for another cheap ass neo boss ,

My advice on beating him or her or whatever it is , Jump around and swing your sword like a madman and you should win ,

Check out genjuros win pose after they carry the body away (the smoking one), that is pure style.

Speaking about MD version of SS. Have you ever really compaired the different versions.
Look at the Neo. So crisp beautful and LARGE characters. Then look at the Gen version Not quite as colorful but still not that bad of a game. Charcters are a bit smaller.
Now look at the SNES version. Where did the characters go. They are maby 1/5 of what they are on the neo geo and about 1/2 of what they are on the genesis...
It makes me laugh.

Sam Sho II was the first home cart that I got with my system. Sam Sho II is a stellar piece of art, design, programing, execution, you name it. Sam Sho II will always be a legendary title - I'm not just talkin 2D Fighters - I'm talkin all-time.

Maybe,i'm playing the wrong SS2 or something. Yes the game is a work of art and I love the characters but the control needed work. Plus they really set up Nak to be a lamb for the slaughter making her not only slow, but weak, and with NO range on her weapon. (of course they made up for this with SS3). Perhaps i haven't played this game the same way as you guys to appreciate the gameplay. Tell, how do you guys play this game? Single or VS? slow and methodical or fast and furious?

Personally, my fave all around is SS3. I could do without the AI but otherwise it's great. Great artwork, moves. Plus, you always must be on your guard because one false move and it's all over!
