My new AES system/cleaning cartriges

Today I've received my first AES system with Fatal Fury Special, and when I turn the system on, I hear a metallic distortion through the right sound channel. I've tried cleaning the cartrige but the bad sound remains. And the most curious thing: if I connect directly the Headphones_Out of the console to the Audio_In of my TV, the sound is played correctly. Does anybody now how to fix this problem? Is the console damaged?
Thank you!

Welcome to the AES, I mean NGH world :-)
make sure you use compress air and other cleaning kit to clean both cartridge and the connector

It may be that the connector on the back of the machine is getting alittle worn as well. I might suggest kinda' jiggling the cord at the base (not hard mind you) to see if the sound quatlity changes. Also, and this is a better suggestion, get a mini pin stereo jack that terminates with two RCA connectors. This will allow you to plug your Neo into a stereo and get stereo sound.

Yeah, RyoGeo, I've got a mini pin stereo jack that terminates with two RCA connectors and that's what I'm using now for getting stereo sound, but it doen't look great with the cable all over the Neo, you know
By the way, which is the best method for cleaning cartriges?

I had the same problem with stock SNK video cables. So I just built my own from radio shack parts. That's my suggestion

Thanks Wolf. I've been trying the Neo cable and the Turbo Duo cable and the bad sound remains, and my Neo Geo CD seems to have the same error so I will use the normal AV cables for the Neo Geo CD and I will build my own connection with a mini pin stereo jack that terminates with two RCA for the AES.
Thank you all!
