has anyone heard of a korean made neo geo

i just recently boubght a neo geo in korea that has korean writing on the fron and says that it was made in korea. i have never seen anything like this has anyone else seen something like this

I have, it is a Korean made system that resembes the regular NGHC system in every way except it has "VIC" written on the top corner and it has "neo geo" written in Korean above the Neo Geo logo. These were also released much later in the life of the Neo.

maybe there are very rare korean versions of the neo games.

ummm actually there are also korean made games I have a few of those as well. Ask anyone who bought SS 4 recently and they probably have Korian made ones as well.

I think I read similar post before, brought by Pichai & Dreamho. It is suppose to be lighter than the "reg" Neo Geo.

As for the games, I know that the home carts that were released in Korea had diff inserts--like other Eng/Europe/Jap counterparts.

I don't beleive the inserts are any different and the games look just like the US couterparts. The ony difference is there doesn't appear to be a gold warning sticker and it says "Made in Korea" on the back of the cart instead of "Made in Japan"

I also have one of the Korean neo systems, although mines even stranger. Its super light like you all said, but I have no Korean writing on mine. It has a totally different power supply than the the US or JAP systems. The power pack is located in the middle of the cable, so it looks like a cable from the neo, to the pack, and from the pack comes another cable which is the the plug. Plus the pack is duel voltage. I was a bit worried that it was a bootleg system, but JMKurtz said it was fine, so he did his magic and now it has the super mod.

As far as Korean made games, I have seen only one like that, and it was KOF 96. It looked the same, but the casing of the cart felt different than my US version.
