I have only 3 Games

I had a lot of gamesystems in my live, Nintendo, Supernintendo, N64,Playstation,Dreamcast,Playstation2
But This Three Games are the really best what i have seen ever befor .

Now I have some Questions :

1. The neogeo is 10? years old. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Not all the games are better than some ps2 games (LOSJ VS Twisted Metal Black), however on the whole you'll see the attention to detail that defines a neogeo game. Think of it as having a mass produced piece of art... versus a non mass produced one. The mass produced version will be cheaper, however the quality of the non mass produced one will usually be higher.

2. The neogeo cd is a cd based version of the cart (aes) system. It has longer loading time, and does not have any of the newer games. It is cheaper though. The neogeo portable? What?

3. Neogeo games are expensive because of collectors rarity and roms. The roms are expensive to produce. You can't exactly go down to your local best buy and buy an aes game so there's the rarity. The collector's drive up the price by well... what else collecting.

Welcome aboard !
Neo geo came out around 1990,
Games are so exspensive now beacause some had very small production runs & demand beats supply which pushes up the price.
Have a look at the boards and you will find more in depth help info !

the "portable" you mean is the neogeo pocket color, a handheld that has little to do with the home system, but does have some games (kof, last blade etc) that also exist in a different version on the home system. it's kinda like a gameboy, just much better.

the "neogeo 64" is the Hyper NeoGeo 64, an arcade-only sequel to the neogeo, with 3D gfx.. however, it only had about 7 games, none all that great to warrant buying a cabinet/supergun and the board with games (my personal opinion).

and one of the main reasons for the price, aside from the ones mentioned above, is the size of the carts.. eproms are rather expensive.

The hyper neo geo is worth it IF you like only fighting games and you already have a cab or supergun.

Welcome to the community, Nader. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">
Enjoy your Neo Geo; it is actually one of the best systems in the history of video games.

Neo games are expensive because of how they were made. There is more stuff in the cart than say Super Nintendo, like memory. They were a LOT more expensive originally! Having said that, the modern/rare games are still expensive cuz there's not that many, but still high demand for them.

If you check the links section of neo-geo.com you should find pics etc. nick_th_fury has pics of the systems, most others should too.

The CD unit, well there's a few. There were 2 versions of the Neo Geo CD, then there was the CDZ, which was 2x instead of single speed. Still, these machines are slow loading compared to carts!

The Neo Geo Pocket came originally with a black and white screen, and several different case styles. It was then released with a colour screen.

Hope this helps <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">
